The interesting part is that MSNBC (states)  that they terminated his contract without notice......with most "talent" contracts this usually means that he did something really evil.....like violate the "morals clause".  Otherwise, there would generally be advance notice that he's leaving, in order to preserve continuity, and what little ratings he had.

He screwed the pooch somewhere......I can't wait to hear the details.....

I had read that Comcast had been given the OK to buy NBC. Perhaps the new owners didn't like him?? I'll venture a bet that Madcow & Chrissy Matthews aren't too far behind.

From what I saw yesterday on FR, Comcast had already sealed the deal and had let go one of MSNBC's executive donut-punchers.

I'm surprised Keef got his walking papers this quickly.

It just goes to show what a clueless tool Olbermann is.

By the end of the movie Howard Beale was manifestly delusional and preaching corporations were the panacea for societies ills ergo his earlier epiphanies were merely born of the same dementia.

The movie isn't one about righteous indignation but nihilistic futility.

Leave it to a liberal to miss the point completely.

I hear Glenn Beck needs a new janitor for his basement. Beck covers his employee's health insurance too. It's a great opportunity for Keef.

Wow, KO could score a triple here!

He'd have a job, a place to stay, and health care too.

Only in America.

In all fairness, as a political analyst and commentator, Keeth made a mediocre sportscaster.

I'm still amazed that some of you "too far gone" libs spell it that way, and think it's somehow "sophisticated," "clever," "intelligent," or "cool" in any way.

That's what I was thinking, Thor. The timing is too much to blame on poor coincidence. Rush was speculating on what might happen with Comcast as the new owner just yesterday, and was speculating that they might actually want to make some ad dollars on the time slot.

On a related subject, I have to say I'd never even seen Rachel Maddow until they had a snippet of her on Fox and Friends when they were doing the segment on Olbermann. Is she(?) a transsexual? She has the voice and look.

As for Olbergrupenfuhrermann, well, hell, we've actually got Al Franken in Congress, so I wouldn't bet against this scheisskopf from running in some DUmmie district or state, and winning.

Considering Sissy Matthews numbers are below embarrassing.  I wonder when he is  getting  the boot. He at times is just a  big of an ass as KO

I guess Comcast is sending a message by killing (oops, I can't say that) off the big dog in a little doghouse like MSNBC to  get their talking heads more mainstream and maybe actually get viewers

Yo know to pay the bills !!!

If "At times" means "All the time," yeah; it's just that he's more into simpering, smug little snot, while Queef has delusions of being a thundering demagogue.

Departed MSNBC bloviator Keith Olbermann was singing his own swan song as early as last spring, trying to persuade his bosses to let him bow out of his $7 million-per-year contract, sources told The Post.

The testy, lefty "Countdown" anchor did not like the prospects of working for less-than-supportive Comcast, whose chairman, Brian Roberts, a prominent Republican, was trying to buy NBC at the time, the sources said.
http://newyorkpost.com/p/news/local/olbermann_wanted_out_year_ago_iDqK4HhA8d79YN4O1y0cAO

I didn't know the guy was pulling down $7 mill per year!! Talk about overpaid. I wouldn't give him $70/year.

It figures though that he judges the person that is his boss, and cries if the boss differs from him in any way. In other words...is not a HARD LINER leftist.

Hell, their entire editorial policy would have to change for me to consider whatching them or any MSM channel. Really, why would I bother with any tv news outlet that isn't at least as fair and at least as not steeped in an ingrained culture of anti-conservatism/Republicans and at least as unlikely to ever censor/distort the news to carry water for the Dems (or anyone), as Fox is?  And that's not going to happen. Most likely Comcast is going to get rid of only the ultra-superinsaniacs. Nothing will really ever change in any of the MSM, not in any substantive way.

The only time I watch MSNBC is when they have a crime documentary on.  They run some pretty good ones on the weekends.  Maybe they should go to "all crime, all the time" in order to get some ratings.
