anyone here catch the swine flu? Updated at 1:30 AM
I had it,got tested for it. My throat swabbed deeply & I came up positive. It really was no big deal to suffer through for me as other flu I had in the past was much worse on me than swine flu was ,but maybe this could explain why I haven't caught any flu since I caught H1N1??..
People who recover from swine flu may be left with an extraordinary natural ability to fight off flu viruses, findings suggests.

UGP got the swine flu.
Well, he/she/it LOOKS the part.

I had the canine flu once.
I was sick as a dog. :-)

I got the swine in 2009, and I don't remember ever having the flu so bad before. I haven't gotten the flu this year either, but I don't generally get the flu on an annual basis, so that isn't too surprising. If he though that the H1N1 was more mild than any other flu, then he either got the anti-viral really early, he is old enough to have some immunity as teenagers and 20-something apparently react the worst to H1N1. Neither of my parents were hit quite as hard as my brother and I, but they were still miserable, or he is blowing smoke out of his ass.
Mind you, mine turned into Pneumonia as well, so my experience was anything but positive.

I got vaccinated for swine flu back in 1976. It was my first, and last, flu shot. That damned thing made me sick with fever for 2 days!
I have had the flu twice since then, neither was as bad as my reaction to the vaccine.

I have had colds in the past but the only time I knew I had the flu was around 1975. I had what was then called the "Port Chalmers" flu. I was sick as a dog for about 2 weeks. I didn't even want or smoke a cigarette for 9 days....that means I was at deaths door.

More likely UGP had distemper. Or a hairball.

Hell, he/she/it is lucky it wasn't distemper or feline leukemia.

Thankfully, the flu has missed me this year. I usually get a vaccine every year at work from the employee health nurse, but I blew it off this season and just never got around to getting it.
I was, however, the honored recipient of a raging case of sinusitis/pharyngitis/otitis media. Thank God for the Z-Pack (azithromycin).

I got the flu shot every year and never had any problems. Last year I refused the H1N1 and had to talk five ways to Sunday in defense from our Employee Health office. I was told that "well, you always take the flu shot and it's included in the 2010 regular shot so blah, blah, blah"
No more shots for me. I watched the CSPAN hearings and was mightily pissed by the whole parade.
-
I came within a cats whisker of dying from the flu after it turned to pneumonia in 2001. I always get my shot every year. I won't risk the flu again.

Exactly my experience, in 1976 AFTER getting the swine flu vaccine, regular flu nearly got me. People have no idea how quickly flu can change into suffocating double pneumonia. You go from the usual flu aches and pains into gasping for breath with blue lips in a matter of maybe an hour. It makes the 1918 catastrophe easy to understand. People who argue about taking vaccines are as DUmb as the chemtrail idiots.

chemtrail idiot? how about this GOBUCKS, with all due respects. I won't take the flu shot in order to let my normally healthy body use it's own defense mechanisms work without hinderence from abnormal toxins that I wouldn't be exposed to had I not taken the shot. I would never advocate that any susceptable person such as my husband or an infant or a person with a weak immune system, not get the protection they need. All I'm saying is, if it works for you GREAT. But to force me, due to company policy isn't gonna make me comply.
