Anybody know anything about him?
I know WI is one of two states that is anti gun.

Herman Cain
I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Reince Preibus, newly-elected chairman of the Republican National Committee. I have spent a lot of time in the great state of Wisconsin, and his efforts can be seen in the tremendous gains the state made in the midterm elections. It is my hope that he will continue to work with the citizens' movement to advance the conservative Republican platform across America.
From facebook
Personally any change from Steele almost has to be an improvement , by default.

Color me unimpressed.
Never heard of the guy. Don't know anything about him. Why should I get excited?

:yeahthat:
Red State is weary about him. That is the best info I can find, but it is all speculation.

Have to research.

Time will tell, I am not holding my breath.

Un-friggin-believable This is just another old guard Republican Cino. How can we run on the repeal of Obamacare if this Cino, one of Pfizers key ObamaCare lobbyists is the RNC Chair? No wonder Steele endorsed him (on his way out).
Q: Senator how can you oppose Obamacare when your party chair lobbied so vigorously for it?
We conservatives are against the expansion of (taxpayer) slavery, and they (the current old guard, blue blood, country club Repuke leadership) are fine with it, provided they can be the slave-drivers.
We need tea party conservatives to replace these pretenders next election.

Uh... did you read the headline? Cino is not the new chair.
-
Conservative in name only. CINO
Not the other one.
-
His oratory skills leave a lot to be desired.
-
:thatsright: There was another woman running for the chairmanship... her name was Maria Cino.
-
He's a country club Republican, a silk-stocking law firm lawyer and his law firm in fact, is selling Obamacare as constitutional.
He's a disastrous choice. At least Steele had a winning record on elections.
This dude is an old-style RINO. He's had his ticket punched his entire life.
Congratulations on this one Republicans! He's a Rockefeller/Bush I style Republican.

WTF? you've got to be kidding me! This is why I haven't donated to the RNC since 2005.
-
Oh my Lord. Look at this little *****...
We're ****ed.
If I was in that audience I'd be sitting there with my arms crossed and glaring at this pencil neck geek.

Yup. The GOP predictably, has done the stupid thing once again.
-
Mmmm... not what I had hoped for.
-
You can tell by the tepid applause that he's going to fail.
I can spot a wimp-ass a mile away, and this guy reeks of it.
You want a REAL leader....

You think Steele would throw his support behind a true conservative? Really??
Reince Priebus’s law firm supports Obamacare and says its constitutional
One Cino was aptly named. But so is this one imho.

The mid-term victories were not because of Steele, they were in SPITE of him.

When I hear Rove and Krawhammer tell us what a great choice this RINO is, we will all know that we are screwed.

He's a wimp. What we need is a fanatic willing to crush the heads of the denocRATs and the liberal racial trash infecting the Homeland.
-

True. But a win's a win. That's how I see it.
This dude looks like a sissy to me too.
Country Club Republicans all seem to like him though.
That should tell you something about him.
I've never met anyone named "Reince".
WTF kind of name is that? :???:

Hi,
Following is a link to the article about him on the Blaze.
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/new-leadership-for-the-rnc-priebus-to-replace-steele/
The impression I got yesterday was his law firm did indeed represent folks who have different views from conservatives but he did not. I totally agree with the comment the Republicans won in spite of Steele and I think they got that message. The articles I read talked about how contributions were down and they realized that they were going to specific candidates instead of the RNC.
I am not so sure that is not a really good thing. Do we trust the RNC to spend our money wisely or are we better off giving to candidates who we KNOW are conservative? Hell, I cut off the RNC when McCain got nominated and I still get stuff from them and I send them all back with a note saying until they get conservative I am not sending them a dime.....they abandoned me!
regards,
5412
PS: I sent more to Marco Rubio this year than I ever sent to the RNC and feel the money was much better spent.
-
I can say without a doubt that the cigar and brandy elitist will not support Palin. They will throw their support behind a RINO.

It's worse than just Obamacare. He was listed by his firm as an expert lawyer in how to get stimulus money for their clients.
From an article defending him in the National Review:
http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/256158/norcross-defends-priebus-brian-bolduc
Reince’s law firm has over 200 lawyers. As a lawyer, I know that law firms represent a wide array of clients on thousands of different issues. Each lawyer acts independent of one another and it is common for lawyers to hold different viewpoints on aspects of law. While a single lawyer or small group of lawyers in Reince’s law firm may believe that Obamacare may be legal, it is ridiculous to attribute that view to the law firm in its entirety and even more ridiculous to attribute that view to Reince directly. Reince has been clear on his stance against Obamacare from day one.
Since the author is a lawyer, he would know that every lawyer in a law firm is disqualified ethically from representing clients in matters
adverse to any clients of that firm. A law firm cannot sue somebody & then provide lawyers for that person's defense. That's a conflict of interest.
Concerning the firm's website listing Priebus as an expert in how to get Stimulus Money:
Large law firms often have practice groups that focus on different aspects of legal representation. Sometimes, firms attribute a particular attorney to a practice group in error. The fact that Reince’s law firm website listed Reince as being associated with a stimulus-focused practice group in error, does not mean that Reince represented clients associated with that practice group. In fact, when the issue was brought to the attention of the law firm, they immediately took the information down because it was inaccurate. This isn’t devious or improper; it’s what you do to correct a mistake.
Either he's an expert in getting stimulus money or not.
Yes. He can still oppose Obamacare or the Stimulus as Chair of the RNC, even if he would be disqualified as an attorney.
But this just smacks of another Country Club GOP inside deal.
-
The establishment threw Christine O'Donnell under the bus. This does not bode well for getting a conservative in the whitehouse in 2012 :censored:
-
I have never seen the guy before I watched the youtube clip.
While I know it's unfair to base an opinion on a 6:50m video...it creates my first impression of the guy, as it will for many people, I'm sure.
My first impression? The GOP is screwed. :(
-
If he keeps his mouth shut, unlike Steele, and raises plenty of money, we will be in good shape. Obama is holding back hundreds of millions of stimulus funds to dish out on the campaign trail. So, our Presidential candidate will need a great fund raising machine. I am hoping this guy is up to the task.

Hi,
I think he will have a hard time raising money if folks see him as those do here on the forum. Screw it, keep sending to our favorite candidate directly.
As far as WI and gun laws. I have a good friend who lives there, and I am a member of two gun clubs there. The bill passed the legislature and was vetoed by the old governor. They had the votes to over ride the veto and two democrats changed their mind at the last minute so it died. Hopefull with the new governor it will get through the current legislature.

Aren't the Republicans in charge of the purse strings now?

0bama may have the discretion to spend the previously authorized "stimulus" funds. The HOR should pass legislation that any stimulus dollars that haven't been spent are no longer authorized to be used.

Which funds are in Geitner's hands?

This is true. The Ivy League elitist so called "leadership" of the RNC seems to have forgotten the first 3 words of the Constituion.
We The People...
-
Apparently, from what I can tell .. the repub leadership is nothing more than dem lite. But since we (conservatives) are the base, they have to put on a "show". But all that "show" goes out the window where key leadership positions and appointments are concerned. This is not hyperbole. This is the current record for anybody who cares to pay enough attention.
Sad to say but our "leadership" is very compliant with the left ... if you get my drift. This is why I call them repukes.
I was a democrat ... I didnt leave them, they left me. Then I was a republican. Again, I didnt leave them, they left me. Now I am a conservative independent. No longer can they take my vote for granted. As others have noted here I no longer support the RNC directly. My support goes to conservative candidates until this (Rino, Cino) leadership has been replaced.
Good bye and good riddance to Boehner, McConnell and Cantor. I used to have immeasurable respect for these guys when they were in the minority (which btw is the "norm" for repukes). Not anymore. Apparently they are/were VERY, I mean EXTREMELY comfortable in the minority. And if they have their way WE WILL BE in the minority again.
Sorry Charlie ... this is not leadership. This is not conservative leadership, to say the least.
I am nobody. I mean that I am absolutely NOBODY in the grand scheme of things. But ... I dont understand how nobody can see all this and the so called "intelligencia" can not (I am speaking fallaciously here). I dont even have a TV*, so obviously I dont watch it. What the H E double L is going on?!
*(Actually I do have a TV, but it hasnt been connected to anything and I havent watched it for about ten years now. Its a "paper weight". Actually I use it to put flower vases on.)
So what gives? (Rhetorical question here.)
-
What the H E double L is going on?!
So what gives? (Rhetorical question here.)
Easy. Millions of conservatives are allowing themselves to be led around on a leash by the so called Republican leadership.
This party needs a massive enema to flush out the RINOS.
-
I personally think that there needs to a whole NEW party. The Conservative party.
-

The House is in charge of new appropriations. However, the stimulus money not spent and the Tarp money paid back by the banks are old money; I believe Obama can use them anyway he wants..
-

I don't mind telling the Dhimmi'Rat Communist Party and the GOP Socialist ass-kissers to piss up a ****in' rope. (check my sig line if you doubt what I say.) Just be aware that the minute the Conservatives cast off the RINO party on this, there will be a Socialist/Communist coalition organized in record time in Congress, to ramrod Comrade Barry's wet dream legislative package through before the people out here in fly-over country have a chance to rein in their "leaders".
I am a Classic Liberal and (little "l") libertarian. I don't recognize the power grabbing ass clowns that occupy the parties now, and they sure as hell don't represent me.

According to a pretty good article in the National Review, Priebus was chosen exactly because of the phenomenon 5412 describes. The GOP is apparently in financial trouble. Big donors are choosing to donate to independent conservative organizations & to the candidates themselves, rather than sending money to the RNC in Washington.
People like Rove & Ed Gillespie have started their own independent fund-raising outfits.
The GOP is playing catch-up.

Why is it that whenever the GOP senses its in trouble or "losing the game" it sends in losers (democrat lites) rather than the "players" who will offer a stark contrast and will "whip the pants off" the adversaries? (rhetorical) Of course I know the answer but why must a losing strategy be employed over and over and over again ad infinitum? No wonder we all think we're going insane.
I say we take back the Republican party and let the losers (democrat lite) go out and form their own. Whats that new one they are forming? The "no party" party? Let them go join them. I want my republican party back!
