Not a DUmmy post, but read the letter and tell me if this sounds familiar:
DEAR ABBY: I’ve been spending a lot of time in doctors’ offices now that I care for my elderly father. Many of these offices have TVs in their waiting rooms.
The sets are invariably tuned to 24-hour news channels on which combative people yell at each other. I think this is a bad choice for sick people. Subjecting them to this programming can only raise their blood pressure. If the televisions have to be there, they should show calmer programming, like shows about food and cooking, homes and gardens, science or history.
I have tried making this point to health care professionals, but they look at me like I’m from Mars. Am I overreacting?

OH SHIT!...it lives in my home state...probably voted for Alvin Greene too.

Yes, it's a bouncy that someone managed to get published. If you are home sick or something and watch Fox during the day, there is no yelling at each other. That comes later, when BOR yells at Alan Colmes, or Sean yells at Bob Beckel. During the day, you have newscasters is all. Peace and quiet. The edgiest you get is Meghan Kelly asking a tough pointed question.

I dunno, if there's a car chase on, Shep gets pretty riled up.

Neil Cavuto yells at the end of his program. He yells, "DEMAND IT!" It can really rise your blood pressure.

No, he doesn't yell that--his stage crew does.

As someone who worked in the medical field for many years, we never had a TV in the waiting room at that time, but I do think the news no matter what channel is on would be somewhat stressful to some people who are sick, so I would think they should put something on like GSN or HGTV. I take my Mom to her Doctor appts. and 1 of her Doctors always has the TV on and it's either turned on to CNN or Nancy Grace's show, I personally would prefer GSN.

We have to go to a branch clinic sort of for one the local hospitals for routine drug testing and they do have a TV there. It was on CNN the last time I went early last year.

Oh please don't convince my doctor of that! It's boring enough in the waiting room without seein' that Hag Martha Stewart! Actually I prefer Faux Snooze. They seem well rounded enough to keep my attention from all the damn sick people!

But he makes them yell it. He's egging them on. It's just too much.

As such, he incites them well. They have missed their cues in the past, however.

At least we don't have a tantrum when it's on CNN LOL. I just get so much news throughout the day it would be nice to just have something silly like the Game Show Network on.

In other words, DUmmie is there to get their refill for their "head meds".

Wow! I didn't know ya could pick up Mad Cow that way!

Seriously that is one of the lamest bouncy I read in a while. That person needs to step away from the :stoner:

I must live in the wrong part of the country.
The only thing I've ever seen on the TV in doctor's offices has been soap operas.
-
I got to watch 'Lets Make A Deal'. Or CNN.
I've never seen Fox News on any doctor's office or hospital TV in the last ten years, and I've been in plenty. Between half a dozen operations, outpatient procedures, dozens of visits, checkups, and tests, I have never seen Fox News on any television in any hospital.

The Cardiac group I go to does, Neurologist too. One of my wife's Orthopedics's does. McDonalds does too. The rest usually have piped in medical stuff of nothing at all.

I've seen CNN Health in my MD's office, and FNC in a dentist's office.
AR, he could make a Mad Cow that way . . . :fuelfire:

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday afternoon, and Let's Make A Deal was on one TV, CSPAN on the other. I immediately grabbed the remotes and changed them to Fox News. Then, I went back to all the clinics that my company operates and did the same thing. So take that DUmmies. :-)

Did everyone start cheering you? That seems to be one of the main points of a bouncy. "and everyone cheered and started talking about how bad faux news and chimpymcbushitler is".

You'd think as well as I know the Bouncy genre that I would have included that. :thatsright:
