This country's done
Advertisements [?]when we have BOTH Republicans and Democrats basically approving shutting people up because they said something that they don't like IN A SEMI PRIVATE SETTING it is over folks
I am highly distressed and disgusted, not to mention slightly scared.
It is coming to the time when we definitely will need to choose to shut up and live, or flee and speak as expats... yes Naomi Wolf is right.. the time is coming SOON.
The creeping fascism is accelerating, aided by short sighted partisans.
To think that at one time I believed that bunk that supposedly was this country
No.. it is not that
The only rule in this country that works is the golden rule
Aka those who have the gold, make the rules
Some may see this as an attack on the US... on what exist rights now absolutely.. after all the ideals died a while ago
We only pay them lip service, yes even here. After all the end justifies the means.
So who will be the last one to turn off the lights of what was once a great experiment?
Stick a fork, its done...
:bawl: just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains...

31. I also thought that way about the germans in the past, how could...
they let it happen and now here we are in the same situation, heading down a dark scary path. The scariest part is their really is no defense unless EVERYONE joined together but from the Americans that I have lived around, thats not happening. The technology that the system has is one thing, then you have FEMA camps waiting to be filled, the constitution means nothing anymore, our troops(sons, daughters, mothers, fathers and friends who could help) are all stranded in Iraq forever, you have blackwater with a $15 billion contract to fight the imaginary war on drugs(police our streets during martial law) and now Canadian troops can come into our streets in the event of martial law.
I am happy though when I see some around DU that have a grip on the reality of what is taking place in our country, but we are outnumbered by those who think none of the above shows anything and bushs executive orders also dont raise flags with allot of those same people?
Good luck to us all!

28. Perhaps
it has been this way from the moment the words, "This country", were iterated.
Just now that all the goodies that have been stolen from other people's lands are in short supply "this country" will be seen for what it has always been.

There is a C130 (I think) that goes over the house a couple of times a week flying fairly low.
It is an impressive sight to see. :-)

It is heading north when it flies over, usually between 6 and 7:00 PM.
You can see the props turning, and exhaust from the engines.
They look like they are too big and slow to be flying. :-)

It seems some of the more observant DUmmies are beginning to realize that McCain is going to win in November.

When I was at FT Bliss, our motor pool (and my office) was right under the takeoff/landing pattern for the Army airfield there (the name escapes me at the moment). You want to talk about "too big and slow to be flying?" Think C-5 Galaxy. Those things look like a big whale in the sky. They look as if they're going to stall, and God help whatever is in their path. They were also loud. I'd have to leave my office when they came over, from the noise. It was similar to being in an honest-to-goodness echo chamber, it seemed. Waaay too loud for me. "Tanker's ear" was nothing compared to this.

Sometimes I think we should just send Skinner a giant box of razor blades to pass out to the hive. Or maybe just poison the Queen...if we can figure out which fairy has bitch-slapped her way to the top. Shine on you crazy moonbat!

I believe you are right...and we can count on at least 4 more years of a good laugh at the DUmmies' expense.
The more they lose, the nuttier they get.

I believe this election year is going to drive most of them over the edge. Look at GD:P. It looks like a fight broke out at the zoo. :-)

Wait.. there's a difference ? Other than different stomping grounds, they seem to do the same chanting, story telling, and armpit waggling. They build massive bonfires where they sing in agreement, or battle against other primitives who disagree with them. Their tales consist of heroes, demons, and the eventual trimuph of thier veriosn of good over evil.
Maybe i'm ignorant or blind, but all primitives look fundamentally the same to me.
