Title: Emanuel: Giffords Shooting Not a Crisis to Exploit
Post by: Ralph Wiggum on January 11, 2011, 02:55:34 PM
At a news conference this morning, Chicago mayoral candidate Rahm Emanuel fielded questions on the Arizona shooting that left Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz) in critical condition.

When asked about a comment attributed to him some years ago about "never let a good crisis go to waste," Emanuel was taken aback .

"That's not intended for this moment, it doesn't apply to this moment," he said.

"Gabby is a friend, I recruited her to run for Congress," Emanuel said. "I started Congress on Your Corner at grocery stores - to be directly in touch - for direct access [with constituents]."

Emanuel says in his current campaign for mayor he's been to "70 el stops, 20 grocery stores, four to five bowling alleys, countless diners" and says while he has encountered some "who won't support me," he adds their reaction has been "appropriate for what you want - open access" and does not plan to curtail his public events.

Hell Palin's silly little map wasn't intended for this moment either, yet the left won't shut up about it.

However, hundreds of thousands being jobless and or worried about paying their bills is a good time for the government to take over and ruin 1/6 of the nations economy.

Translation: "We'd better stop it because we got busted and it's not working anyway. But just wait until the next one..."

That's true, but they'll say they will stop in an attempt to get the heat off of them, but they'll still continue just the same. They just won't be able to go full speed with their real goal: silencing and criminalizing opposition to their agenda.

If we still had a dem congress I would think they would reach their goal and silence the right.

Bet he would say differently if he wasn't running for mayor.

Damn straight. If anything, Rahm is the perfect politician. Can be crass and brazen when necessary (which is usually all the time), filthy-mouthed and crude (which is usually all the time), and absolutely sincere (which is none of the time).

He has already said differently, back when he wasn't running for mayor.

The left won't shut up about it, yet in 2004 they offered the exact same thing in their campaign strategy, along with little catch phrases such as "Targeting Strategy" and "Behind Enemy Lines".

It's perfectly fine to use combat analogy to describe political war, which any election most certainly is. Nothing wrong with the use of targets and rhetoric to describe the battle waged with opponents, i.e., the enemy.

The fact that the left is trumpeting this stuff merely illustrates how out of touch these yahoos are with respect to common sense.

If the libs would stop making mountains out of molehills, they wouldn't have anything to deflect. They wouldn't have a finger to point, even though three more point right back at them.
