Bill Daley - mixed feelings
Part of me is very unhappy about this center-right big business type being appointed in an attempt to pander to the big business boys who have nothing in common with (my perception of) the Democratic base. After all, this clown was against health insurance reform.
Part of me is happy he's there. For **very** selfish reasons, I want the economy to hang in there until I get on Medicare and can plan for retirement - or not - at my own pace. He was one of the big participants in the hot economy under Clinton. If he can do half that good under Obama, I'll be a very happy man. My kids will have to pay the bill, but what the hell. I will have gotten mine. And isn't that all that matters?
No, really. A big business type as white house chief of staff? Is it pandering or is it smart?
I have mixed feelings.
He was one of the big participants in the hot economy under Clinton.:lmao: As if Bill Daley had anything to do with the dot.com bubble. The DUmmies never learned about correlation and causation. The talking head DUmmies you see on the Teevee are no better.
Obama to Daley, "Hey Bud....get your ass out here to Washington and help me milk this cow before she runs dry....looks like I ain't got but another 2 years."
Stinky The Clown (1000+ posts) Fri Jan-07-11 04:14 PMNo kidding? ::) So after you get onto Medicare, you don't give a damn about the economy? :bird:

What sort of "big business" was Bill Daley ever in?
As far as I know, Bill Daley was never in business, always on the governmental payroll somewhere.
But I dunno everything; maybe he worked for Union Carbide or Coca-Cola or Bethlehem Steel or something.
The Daley Family have run Chicago into its current level of debt.
Ain't you just the model of parenthood, StinkFinger?...then Stinky could re-attach his lips to the wrinkled-rectum of the purple-lipped sack of house manure currently occupying the White Mosque.
Get back in the basement head and stick yer finger back up the cat's butt where it belongs!
Nobody gives a shit what you think!
