A post-election helping of bullshit from the Democrats. Next time you hear a DUmmy make this stupid claim, here are the details.
Health care law repeal: Why would it increase the deficit?
In a preliminary analysis released Thursday [PDF], the CBO estimated that health care repeal would add $145 billion to the deficit from 2012 to 2019, and $230 billion from 2012 to 2021.
Under the terms of Obama’s health bill, government payments to Medicare Advantage – plans run by private insurers that are an alternative to traditional Medicare – are supposed to be reduced by $132 billion over a decade, for instance. (Those plans now get around 14 percent more per person than traditional Medicare does.) Payments for Medicare home health care would also be slashed by around $40 billion over ten years.
Second, repealing health-care reform would also entail rolling back scheduled tax increases and fees.
For example, individuals making over $200,000, and couples making over $250,000, face higher Medicare Part A (that’s hospital insurance) taxes under Obama’s health reforms. Their Part A tax rate is supposed to go up 0.9 percent on January 1, 2013. That’s a big money raiser, estimated to bring in $210 billion between 2013 and 2019. And it would be eliminated if the health care reform law is repealed. So would planned fees levied on insurers, medical device manufacturers, and others.

There is an add that I have heard on my local CT radio station that says the state of CT will be able to put $400+ million in a "piggybank" due to the new law. Asshats spreading BS.

In my personal opinion, their projections on EITHER costs or savings of this program beyond 18 months are nothing but a wild guess, dressed up to look like some kind of actual accounting.

CBO Says Repealing ObamaCare Would Reduce Net Spending by $540 Billion
The Congressional Budget Office, in an email to Capitol Hill staffers obtained by the Spectator, has said that repealing the national health care law would reduce net spending by $540 billion in the ten year period from 2012 through 2021. That number represents the cost of the new provisions, minus Medicare cuts. Repealing the bill would also eliminate $770 billion in taxes. It's the tax hikes in the health care law (along with the Medicare cuts) which accounts for the $230 billion in deficit reduction.

So which one is it??

I bet repealing this Hellcare bill would end up saving us money in the long run. Actually, I'm pretty positive of it.

This is another example of how these ****ing Democrats operate, ie. Not increasing spending is the same as a spending cut.
Bunch of dishonest thieves.

Over half a trillion dollars, according to the Spectator article. That's almost a brazillion! :fuelfire: :-)

If we don't repeal this legislation, the cost of health care will increase at a faster rate than it already is. Therefore, by not repealing this bill, more people would apply for welfare and food stamps, thus costing the govt. more. Also, keeping the plan in place would cost $1 trillion in the next decade. The number given by the CBO is just a bunch of bs, I would not pay too much attention to it.

The Democrats have never figured out some of the basics of human actions...when you tax the crap out of something, people do/buy/sell less of it. Therefore, higher taxes reduce income by greatly reducing the actions that cause income. Lower taxes increase government income by making everyone richer.
Just as they can't figure out why we have an obesity epidemic while Social Security disability can easily be obtained by eating. Of the actual disabled people I know, the vast majority are still trying to earn money somehow while repeatedly repealing their rejections. But the ones that merely stuffed themselves for a few years got it instantly. :thatsright: :mental:
I guess this idealist attitude goes a long way to explaining the destruction of education, also. If you can't figure out the basics of human reactions, it follows that you really can't understand kids.

That is what they want--to collapse the system, and force everyone onto govenment healthcare.

This Health care bill was written in part by large insurance companies such as Blue Cross, United Health, etc. Their objective is to squeeze smaller companies out of business creating a monoploy for the big corporations. 5 or 10 years down the road the big companies profits will be squeezed so tight that it will be no longer viable for them to stay in the health care business. Then we will have the government stepping in to provide us with single payer. That is the game plan.
