http://www.theblaze.com/stories/report-john-edwards-asks-former-mistress-to-marry-him/
The National Enquirer is breaking yet another story about former Democratic politician John Edwards and his twisted love affair with former campaign videographer Rielle Hunter.Just one month after his estranged wife Elizabeth succumbed to her battle with cancer, the Enquirer reports that the former presidential candidate has popped the question, asking Hunter to marry him and purchasing a $3.5 luxury beachfront home for the couple and their toddler daughter.
Of course this will be a wonderful marriage, one based in trust.........A cheater once a cheater twice. They deserve each other.

He should do right by his new child. His other children are pretty much grown and I'm sure he is answering for much in their eyes but there is a new and innocent life that deserves the best possible outcome from of a twisted beginning.
If that means Mr Edwards and Ms Hunter go on to have a full and happy marriage then so be it. Wishing for anything less would be demonic.

He has a 10 and 12 year old at home.

What a wonderful message to send. Elizabeth isn't even cold and he's already proposing marriage to the skank.

What a dirtbag. ::)

She threatened to "cut him off" if he didn't propose....and he didn't know exactly what she meant by the "cut you off" comment.

Are the 10 and 12 year old going to live with him and new wife.??
We all saw after Diana's death how her boys took quickly to their fathers mistress. In no way did they desert their father for his actions toward their mother. In fact their father became closer to the boys and they to him.
Darn , we cannot judge what others are doing if have not been part of their lives.

You can't be serious.

You can't be serious.
Sadly, she is.

Those poor kids. Not just their situation, but it is doubtful that they will ever be able to have a normal life. It isn't their fault they were born in a fishbowl.
It isn't a surprise that he proposed, but to do it so quickly just seems very unseemly. What a tacky man.
-
This is just another glaring example of Edwards' selfishness.
I don't believe for a moment he's thinking about the youngster, and he damn sure isn't thinking about his 10- and 12-year olds.
His sense of timing absolutely sucks.
But that's the Edwards way. :whatever:
-
Sounds like a perfect match, actually. "No real human partners had to be harmed in the making of this marriage."
-
You can't be serious.
Yes she is, and don't call me Shirley.

I don't find it surprising at all.
It's typical of many men. Saw it with my father who married his "friend" less than 8 months after my mother was killed. My ex's uncle married his long long long term mistress within months after his wife of 40+ years died of cancer. Ironically, both men still ended up alone as both second wives died, and they were left old and alone.

Yup, friends MIL died leaving it to husband to decide what of her personal belongings was to go to her and her sister. after a period of 3-6 months the girls who had still not received on thing personal of their mother found out their father had remarried. Their parents had been married 40 years.
Everyone lived in a small town and the two sisters had to be restrained when they ran into their stepmother wearing their mothers and grandmothers jewelery to Church.
When the father died he left everything to his new wife and HER kids and the girls lost everything from their mothers side of the family including the farm that she, their mother had inherited from her family.
Life and death can be a bitch.

He probably did this to get the other "negative" news off of him. I just read a couple of days ago that Elizabeth left him NOTHING in her will. Someone should tell his new fiance that she will do... until someone younger comes along.

Ah but you forget that much was in both their names, bank accounts, land, stocks and bonds------Most likely what she had to give to her children was from her own family and not from except for her half their marital income.
Yes they did divorce, but I bet you he made out like a bandit from stuff that was off the record, that she knew nothing about.
On a very small scale this happens every day, this is the under belly of human life. This becomes reality only when it happens in your family and your Aunt that spent 30 years married to a man that made her use the laundry mart or a broken down car finds after he dies that he has stashed $100,000 in a safety box at the bank.

:lmao: Hang in there kids, all things come to those who close their eyes and wait.
We are not safe even with an iron bound will, EXAMPLE----
That nasty woman that ran a multimillion chains of Hotels, She willed something like $100,000 million to her dog. After the dog died then the money was to go to Charity's she named.
The Charity's went to court and demanded their share right now, the hell with the dog.
Some idiot Judge in California decided that her last wisher were not important, he over turned her will, gave the dog a pittance of her money and released all those millions to the salivating Charity's that could not wait 6 -7 years to get what they demanded was theirs.
I hope as mean as she was in life that she and dog meet that Judge and the Charity's at the gates of Hell and sick that three headed dog on them all. Anyone that steals from the dead has bad Kama running to meet them.
-
She willed something like $100,000 million to her dog.
Is that more or less than a brazillion?

Knowing the way that scumbag thinks, he probably wants to take control of his kids trust from lizzy since he was excluded in her will. He has plenty of his own money but democrats are greedy for more than than they can ever use.
-

:lmao:HI5
Actually I kind of figured he thought it'd be cheaper to marry the skank than to pay her off even more.
They are both frigging disgusting animals and I feel so sorry for Rielle, Jack and Emma, all the young innocent lives they're in the process of destroying, as well as for Edwards' older girl Kate.
Miserable lifeforms.
My New Year's resolution was to quit cussing so often but it's so DARN hard.

What a dirtbag. ::)
Once a dirtbag, always a dirtbag.

Great thinking there Tucker, he as father would be first in line to manage the trusts funds of his children.
About the law, if John drops dead of a hart attack in the next 10 years, will his new wife be in charge of her stepchildrens trust fund??
Were they ever legally divorced.?
What happens if this new wife to come wants to divorce him, will she in a round about way get money that both John and first wife made together.??

If Elizabeth was smart...and by all accounts she was...she appointed someone in her will to manage the kids money. I hope it was not the oldest daughter, though, as that could possibly put a lot of unnecessary pressure on her, from her father.
As far as I know, the divorce was not final, which means all of the "joint" stuff - house, bank accounts, anything that had not yet been legally split - key word LEGALLY split and documented by the court - now belongs to John.
Elizabeth probably had retirements, investments, bank accounts in her own name, and life insurance. Those are the things that would have been left to the children.
Unless NC has changed it's divorce laws...if/when John remarries...for some period of time, what he brings to the marriage, remains his until a certain amount of time passes..so Rielle would not get any of it, until that time passes. Here in TN, it's 10 yrs. However, should John croak, and they are married...that's a different story.
In TN, the primary home of a married couple, belongs to both of them regardless of who's name is on the deed. Neither the husband nor the wife, can sell the primary home without the other's signature. Both must attend the closing of the property, or there must be a notorzied document giving the other power of attorney to sign the closing documents of the one who does not attend. Also, if a couple is divorced, if the house is sold after the divorce, but both names were on the deed, both must attend the closing. I'm pretty sure that it's the same in NC, which means that if John croaks, that huge house would then belong to Rielle, unless he states in his will that the house goes to his children by Elizabeth only. If he leaves it to all of his children, then theoretically Rielle could live there with her baby and the other children.
I wonder if the two younger children will live with John and Rielle. I would think it would be very difficult for them, but they are minors, and he is their father, so he would have the legal right to determine where they live...whether they want to or not.
