What is your #1 personal reason why you could never EVER be a Republican in a million years?
For me it's wildlife and the environment. Republicans have no regard for either, and their atrocious modern-day record on the environment shows it. Most Republicans would level an old growth forest just to get a few prime logs. They'd kill the last fur-bearing animal on the planet to make a quick buck or to have a fur coat, and they'd do it without any empathy for the creatures what so ever. Republicans have become such rotten, corrupt assholes concerning the environment and wildlife that Teddy Roosevelt must roll over and over in his grave.
Although Republicans are out to screw anyone but the rich, I feel that people in general stand a chance to take care of themselves or at least fight back. But wild animals and forests? They are 100% at the mercy of ruthless assholes who would wipe them out for an extra dollar. Animals and forests wouldn't stand a chance without Democrats always fighting to protect them.
Do you have a personal #1 reason why you could never be a Republican in a million years? If so, what is it?

Of course, prime logs are engineered to be that way by paper & timber companies' R&D departments. Then, they're grown on farms. Then replanted.
As for the critters, ask all those strays I have under my wing at the moment. ::) Anybody in dire need of a kitten?

I have 6 cats, all rescues. I have a cattle dog that's a rescue. I do iguana rescue and am the local waterfowl rescue person. My feed store also gives me all the sickly chicks...I just have a knack.
I don't use any chemicals on my trees or vegetables. I have animals that free range and feed the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks and want them all to be healthy.
See, the difference between the left and the right...you want someone else to be responsible for taking care of flora and fauna and you can pretend you care because you pay taxes to support several government agencies that take rights AND responsibilities away from you. People on the right think they should be responsible for their themselves and their land. I don't need someone to tell me how to take care of my property or what I can and can't do with it.

Yep, the Dims are far more interested in the environment. They are so concerned about old growth forests that they would prefer seeing them burn down than allowing reasonable logging and replanting.
They are so concerned about animals that they really think all animals should be turned loose to live their lives free from human control...never mind the number that will starve or otherwise die horrible deaths, and the resulting chaos from the newly feral critters. They are so concerned about animals that they want to ban all hunting...because it's just so much more fair to kill them with cars or let them starve. They are so concerned about maintaining specific species that they support laws that essentially destroy private property rights to an infinitely greater degree than anything engendered by the War on Terror.
They are so concerned about all their fellow humans that they support laws that have cost more human life than all the wars in history, combined.
I could never be a Democrat because I actually care for other humans, and support them from conception until death, regardless of their "value" in the eyes of some humans.
I could never be a Democrat because I care about seeing land, animals, property and the environment properly cared for.
I could never be a Democrat because I am aware of and in agreement with the fact that no one owes me a living, including Uncle Sam. Safety nets are wonderful things for a short while, if someone is completely desperate...but that's it.
I could never be a Democrat because I've actually read the New Testament several times, and I know that my Savior did not call me to appease mankind by embracing sinful behavior. He called me to support the poor with my money, not my neighbor's. He called me to read His word to learn what He wants from me, not to twist it to support my opinions.

I could never be a Democrat because . . . unlike them, I actually believe that all human beings have the right to defend themselves against any and all attacks, whether they be from individuals or the government, using whatever means they can, including deadly force with firearms.

Okay ... I'll bite.
Bearing in mind that I'm a non-citizen and this is purely a hypothetical situation..
I'd "never" be a Republican because the party as a whole is too far to the left, too reluctant to dramatically reduce spending, legislation and scope of the federal government; is too cowardly to take a hard line stand on controversial issues and in general is only better than the democrats by virtue of a few minor issues.
The only reason to vote for them is because they're the lesser of two evils and not doing so on any large scale results in something as abysmal as obama.
