New Poll Confirms Country is Clearly Progressive
New poll out indicates that the country is clearly, massively, overwhelmingly progressive. While they talk about cutting so-called entitlement programs in Washington, the American people have completely different priorities.

indicates that the country is clearly, massively, overwhelmingly progressive. While they talk about cutting so-called entitlement programs in Washington, the American people have completely different priorities.
Sixty-one percent of Americans polled would rather see taxes for the wealthy increased as a first step to tackling the deficit, the poll showed.
The next most popular way -- chosen by 20 percent -- was to cut defense spending.
The number of American adults calling themselves Republicans in December increased by one percentage point from November to 37.0%.http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/partisan_trends
Also in December, the number calling themselves Democrats fell by a point to 33.7%.
Those figures reflect the largest number of Republicans in the nation since December 2004 and the lowest number of Democrats ever recorded in tracking since November 2002.

27. A tax hike to the rich would lead to more hiring
Much more than a tax cut.
Reason number 1 - if given a choice whether or not to pay taxes - most people prefer NOT to pay taxes. If the tax rates were high enough - the wealthy would actively look for ways to invest it instead of just sitting on it.

29. you're talking about a wealth tax
from a purely incentive aspect, the combination of a high tax on wealth and a low (or no) tax on income would provide a tremendous disincentive to hoarde wealth. private art collectors would be strongly encouraged to open up their collections to public viewing to offset the wealth tax, for instance.

35. Massive urgent need to change the voting methods needed!
I say it often, but it is downright comical to read any post or thread from a DUmmy about economics or taxes.
