Europe starts confiscating private pension funds
Source: Washington Examiner
The U.S. isn't the only place that's facing a major pension fund crisis. The Christian Science Monitor has this alarming report:
People’s retirement savings are a convenient source of revenue for governments that don’t want to reduce spending or make privatizations. As most pension schemes in Europe are organised by the state, European ministers of finance have a facilitated access to the savings accumulated there, and it is only logical that they try to get a hold of this money for their own ends. In recent weeks I have noted five such attempts: Three situations concern private personal savings; two others refer to national funds.

We've had our own discussion of this subject here.
Of course, DU, in their usual colliding cascades of cognitive dissonance and projection insist that this taking of private money out of the private economy by government fiat is some how an indictment against the free market. The definition of "free" having been lost on them

12. Kill the rich and take back what they've stolen.
One strains to connect ephemeral dots.
Then there's this:

17. Pension Fund theft not an origional idea
Sorry gang. It was the Rev Jackson who proposed raiding
private pension funds to pay for government programs in 1992.
All of Jackson's critics ask, How would you pay for it? The
campaign has drawn up impressive budgets, and Jackson is
offering ingenious new ways of liberating capital for public
use, such as the investment of pension funds in federally
approved projects. But the budget crunch that has deadlocked
social development in America for a generation cannot be
approached by limiting the range of possibilities to existing
categories of revenue.
I have it capped, just in case (not to imply such a post would ever be deleted :uhsure:).

Watch your 401s and IRAs. Have a plan to get that money out quick. Tell the government to suck a nice wet shiny turd out of your asshole if they want their penalty fees. They broke the contract. All rules pertaining to it are null and void.

Again, for lurking DUmmies. The current administration has considered it here, and likely still is.
-
Why would DUmmies have a problem with this?
1.) They don't HAVE any pension money
2.) This is just 'Spreading the wealth around'
3.) They don't HAVE any pension money
4.) This is 'taking it from the rich' who are the only ones who are invested
and;
5.) They don't HAVE any pension money!

Indeed.
we must ask how many of America's "working poor" have a 401k.
I'm sure the non-working poor will report even lower numbers.
Also lost within their impotent rage is the fact that many employers--the evil, greedy, thieving rich corporatatists--contribute to 401k plans.

That thread looks like a mole convention judging by quite a few of the comments.

I noticed the thread kind of died out too. :-)

You're very welcome. Frank does all the hard stuff now, which is the writing & compiling of threads. I used to do that, but got kind of burned out after the first few years. It gets painful to read & search the DUmp for days on end.

Don't I know it, I think I need to ignore the Dumpster for a few days and just play on the other forums, it's really mind boggling. And frank does an awesome job with the writing, no idea how he doesn't burn out either.

You and Coach both deserve medals for wading thru the sewer over there! I could never have the patience! Stooooopidity is against my religion!

6. For sure, at least you can count on the government to
spend it wisely and for the proper things.

Really?! "Kill" the rich? And what is it they have stolen DUmmie? Did they take money from your pocket? Did they take money from your family's pocket? Did they take money from your friend's pocket?
Sit down and shut up you scrunt. I'm sick and tired of the "class warfare" that the community organizer has provoked. :argh:

Still living in the 1960's I see. That meme grew stale decades ago, but the libTURDs still have to try and revive it now & then.

And yet if I said "stop the punks, kill them" I would be in trouble.

Kill the left before they've stolen.
