KANSAS CITY, Missouri - A Missouri woman has been sentenced to death for killing a mother-to-be and cutting the baby from her womb.

Judge Gary Fenner handed down the sentence after a jury recommended the death penalty for Lisa Montgomery in the slaying of Bobbie Jo Stinnett.

The 39-year-old from Melvern was convicted in October of kidnapping resulting in death in the Dec. 16, 2004, killing of Stinnett. Montgomery was arrested at her farmhouse a day after showing off Stinnett's baby as her own.

 There are crimes where I feel the death penalty almost isn't enough. This is one of them. I only hope it doesn't get commuted or overturned somehow.

This has been big news here for a week.....unless there was an error in the trial, I doubt that it will be overturned. 

Albeit on a smaller scale than the champs in Texas and Florida, we here in Missouri are fairly effective in dispatching the scum winding up on our "death row"...
