Mayoral candidate Carol Moseley Braun today said she won't make her tax returns public before next month's election.
"Because I don't want to," Braun said when asked why she wouldn't be releasing them in the time before the Feb. 22 election.

I hate to say it, but I could almost hope she wins since it would mean Rahm Emanuel losing. Either way, Chicago will get what it deserves, more corrupt leadership from the DemonRats. They won't be happy until Chicago looks like Detroit.

I find her "Because I don't want to" the most honest answer I have heard from a politician in years.

Maybe she's like the other democrat politicians....she also doesn't pay income taxes because she doesn't want too.

Wonder why?
1. Moseley Braun was the subject of a 1993 Federal Elections Commission investigation over $249,000 in unaccounted-for campaign funds.
2. She helped her mother hide assets so that her mother could recieve Medicare benefits.
That's why she might not want to.

So she has played another card, and it once again proves Braun is not playing with a full deck. "Reporters asked how that would work, since the city signed its rights away after hiring its own adviser. "You sue them all," she said." A good indicator as to how she may solve problems for the City. Not a good problem solver. Our next Mayor needs to be smarter than the average bear, "sue them all" is not what I would expect to hear from an effective leader.

I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that Emanuel will win, which I think could be a good thing. Not that he's worth a crap, but here's why. The city is a mess right now and in ways that are too long for me to type. Chicagoans tolerated it under Daley, but are looking for some reform from the new mayor. Rahm-bo won't be able to do it. He's going to have to work with the 50 aldermen, which is not in his nature. The aldermanic system is way tougher to deal with than Congress, and Rahm didn't do that when he was there or in the White House, he was the bully.
This will clear a path for someone more reasonable to become Mayor in four years. My two cents...

Well, I have to disagree. I've lived in Chicagoland as recently as 1999 and it is not NEARLY the shithole that Detroit is - though, I grant you, that there are areas in Chicago that do look like third world countries after Armageddon.
Daley was/is a crook, but he is a smart crook and he somehow held on by his fingernails. The various crooks that have fronted that seeping chest wound known as Detroit were too busy going to jail to be smart.
Detroit will hit the shitter before Chicago, that's for sure. But Chicago's headed there too.
It's a Rust Belt thing....
