House Republicans schedule vote on healthcare repeal for next week
House Republicans plan to fulfill a campaign promise and hold a vote next week on repealing the healthcare reform law.
The incoming House majority leader, Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.), announced Monday that the vote will take place on Jan. 12, one week after Republicans take control of the House.
Republicans will post the legislation Monday night on the website of the House Rules Committee, in keeping with their pledge to post bills at least 72 hours before they come to the floor for a vote. A procedural vote on the bill will occur Friday, Cantor’s office said.

I know if they do this it won't get repealed but, dammit it will be nice to see them stand up for the American People.

2. offering nothing in it's place. the party of nothing expands on it's theme.
Oh they are offering something in its place, and that something is called freedom.

EPIC FAIL!
They, the repubs, will put in it's place "true" health reform. Not a TAKEOVER of health care, like the baby dictator is trying to do.

70+% of the American public will be happy that they tried. Plus those 23 senate seats that the donks have to defend will be thinking twice about having to go on the record as being against the will of the governed. Maybe Klinton will come out and tell the democratic senators that they will win if they keep HellCare. Yeah that's the ticket.
-
At least they are trying.

Needs to be a weekly event.
OK-- I'd settle for monthly. With defunding bills in between, so there's a defund or repeal bill every fortnight.
-
It may be purely symbolic, but such symbols are a crucial part of keeping the faith with the voters that sent them.

And it's crucial to keep beating the Dems over the head with the club they created. Make them fight this battle over and over.

I can already see how this is going to shake out.
Things will move from "talk" to "action" after we get rid of the current big boy network, business as usual republicrat "leadership". Starting at the top ...
Starting with Boehner ... if he doesnt replace the Chairs hes appointed.
Dont be lulled into a false sense of security. More "house cleaning" needs to be done.
Removing all the parasites is going to take time. At least 2 more elections to go as the senate elections are staggered.
Until then ... its more "show" than "go".

I agree. Do whatever it takes to defund/kill this bill.

That's goin' to be easy, as we now hold the purse strings! If we can get the congress critters to keep their promises! I know, I know, BIG if!!!!!!!!
Seems like they forget everything they say once they get into DC! Must be some kind of mind control ray once you pass the city limits!

Although the despicable mandate doesn't kick in until 2014--and may be struck down in the USSC anyway--the first thing that has to be defunded, or rather simply not funded, is all the new IRS staff for mandate enforcement. I want to see all of the IRS held put under a microscope. Not one penny to bring in and train staff for this shit!

Exactly.
Also, we'll see how the court cases play out.

Now, now, we all know the mighty IRS never wastes any of the money we send them! You're talkin' some crazy shit there! [/sarc]

Those DUmmies hate this bill just as much as we do, for different reasons of course. It's not FREE; whereas we simply want freedom.
