Post by: Thor on December 28, 2010, 03:31:34 PM
As one of our membership verification questions, I asked this. How many know the answer OR know where to find it??

How many decimal places do you want?

(I usually find 3.1415926 is more than adequate for my needs most of the time.) :II:

Key lime and it's in my fridge!  :-)

Apple, pumpkin, and pecan pies are sitting in my fridge.  The peach pie has already been "assimilated".  (oh; and the pumpkin in that pumpkin pie, never saw the inside of a can.  It was fresh from the garden this summer.)

That other stuff sounds like math to me.  I am allergic to math. :(

That's classified.  It would break the super secret security decoder ring.

I DID keep a lot more simple than seven digits beyond the decimal point. I could have used 22/7, but that's not completely accurate.

Can we submit some to the admin?

Here's mine;

If you have $10.00 in your pocket and a hippie wants you to buy him/her a cup of coffee from Starbucks .... how much money do you have left over?

Easy as .... uhhhh pie?

LOL  Easy for us but those nasty, nasty infiltrators would not only figure the cup of coffee + tax but they would throw in a tip and some money for the hippie to buy lunch thereby leaving with a deficit!  HA!  That's how we weed them out.

One would think, but having spent the last 10 years tutoring remedial math at the local college, they DON'T!  I am absolutely shocked at the number of people graduating high school without even knowing basic math (i.e. multiplication tables).

Say "quarter to 3" sometime to a kid and they will look at you with a puzzled look and a "huh?" Have to say 2:45 for them to know what time you are referring.

I learned that when I was seven and showed up late for dinner.  I heard 'quarter' and thought 25 and not 15.
