My parents have given up on wrapping presents. This year I got them in a brown paper bag.
I got an awesome collection of winter clothes... heavy jackets and sweaters. Just what I needed. :)
-
Bags of cat litter, both small bags and big bags.
Bags of cat food, both small bags and big bags, and as specified, Purina Friskies brand.
About two gallons of "Preferred Stock" cologne.
All in all, a good Christmas for gifts, although I'm never sure what to do about the cookies and candies; usually I just jam them into the refrigerator, and they're not all gone until August. For some peculiar reason, women around here think franksolich is too thin, I dunno.
But the best present comes tomorrow (Saturday), when I get to meet the primitive again, for Christmas dinner.
People are sooooooo much more fascinating than things.

You're going to visit the family with the crazy aunt again?

Yepper, the neighbors down the road.
They however sent the children to the grandparents', so as to prevent any possible emotional damage.
Inbetweentimes, I'm working tonight. My principal job is keeping books for a truck stop, but I'm actually going to work the counter tonight, so that someone with family can have the night off.
That is going to be something else; a deaf person, working alone out in the middle of nowhere--and the truck stop's the only place open tonight, for circa 120 miles on all sides--waiting on people. And it's a pretty big place, eighteen gasoline pumps outside.
The only problem I've had is when credit-card authorizations require using the telephone, but during the middle of the night, that happens rarely anyway, and when it does, I just summon a deputy county sheriff to come in and handle the telephonic business for me.
Christmas Eve in a truck stop is a great time to collect good story material, because people away from home on Chirstmas Eve usually have a story in them.
So it's all good.
-
I spent a couple years on the other end of those phone calls. It's an interesting job even if it isn't very demanding.
-
A $25 giftcard to Panera from my mom, a card from my ex girlfriend and a big "**** you" from BofA.
-
I got a couple of John Wayne DVD's, "Chisum" and "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence". I also got a 25 and a 50 dollar gift card and a flashlight made by Stanley that has three legs for me to prop it up and the head turns so you can aim the light anywhere I need it.
-
New tires on the car and a kiss.
-
The usual, a lump of coal and all the bills.
Actually, I don't know yet. It'll be about another hour before I know.

My wife got Victoria's secret perfume, Ipod Touch(case, screen protector), stocking stuffers, Santa(because I believe) brought us both a sound system for the bar in the basement. Our dog got new toys and treats. Oh......

Hope everyone has an awesome Christmas!
-
Nice pair of Isotoners (my husband wanted his back for some reason,) a gift set of Vera Wang perfume, and a watch which has been backordered. Hubby got Fringe S2 on Blu-Ray, Inglourious Basterds, and a Nintendo game.
It was my kid who made out like a bandit: Barbie Dream House (off Craigslist! Best $50 I ever spent), about seven Barbies and a carrying case for them, Leapster Explorer, some games and books. And we haven't even been to Grandpa's house yet, or Grammy and Pappy's. This being the last Christmas as an only child and grandchild has been pretty lucrative for her!
Merry Christmas everyone! Hope Santa was as good to you as he was to us. :)
-

Santa's going to pay for my end of year realty dues..... :yahoo:
They are almost $900 and due by the 31st and I don't have the money this year. :bawl: If they aren't paid on time, the penalties will be several hundred $'s more. Whoever decided all this crap needs to be paid in December should be shot!!! We still have to pay almost another $400 in July for MLS membership fees. :censored:

Not that much for Xmas, but as the kids are struggling to buy for their own --
What we gave for Xmas was not that great either, I just buy for my adult kids and mother's kids are up to their parents and they get plenty.
We got all the woman in the family a purse and wallet, 2 males a wrist watch and for my oldest son duel grinding wheel that he can use. Hubby bought this tool a month ago and found it was way too much for him to ever use so we gave it to our boy that was very happy to get it.
I do not give to grand kids unless they out due themselves then I will. Mean old me did not buy for but one grandchild or any of their children's. I bought for MY Children and my Mother.
The adult parents are forgotten in the holidays, sent a box of cookies or a tube of lipstick, the kids get so much that they begin to think they are intitiled to all this stuff that they could care less about.
Sad but I am now thinking about what my Hubby got for Xmas-----seems everyone forgot him, as a step father and in control of my health and care for me, He did not not get one persent from the family that he cares for. Not one personal present to Him, himself.
-
Champagne glasses, and a bottle of Piper-Sonoma to go with it.
A tote bag, made from the replica upholstery and headliner of a 67 VW Bug.
Books.
And a lot of stuff I have no clue what to do with.
-
Diamond earrings and necklace, books, art supplies, carved gemstone critters, fancy picture frames, more books :yahoo: two bookcases and bookstore gift cards.
I collect antique quilts and my mother-in-law has always given me one for Christmas. I'm always eager to see what she picked, the pattern, the history. She passed away unexpectedly last month. Between that and all my grandkids moving to Utah, I'm not my usual "Mrs. Claus" self. My youngest son really caught me off guard with a lovely Carolina Poinsettia quilt. Little bugger.(http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/happycry2.gif)

I went to Staples hoping they'd have the $139 Kindle in stock, the guy said they get deliveries twice a week and as soon as it comes in people buy them up and there wasn't 1 available within 20 miles, also called Target to see if they had any in stock, they said no, so I decided to just order it from Amazon.
I was going to get the Nook formerlurker but decided to go with the Kindle.

I own all of the seasons. I am a total fanatic of The Office. And I'll be super sad at the end of the current season since this is Steve Carell's last season.

I've had Christmas all year long what with the tuba I bought in May and a gig bag for it that I bought in Sept.
Made a tidy sum by playing a church gig (not mine) on Christmas Eve with which I'm gonna buy a Marlin 336 in .30/.30.
Mrs. E got me the FSP game "Medal of Honor" which won't run on my computer. :lmao: Thor and I are working around that little problem....

I've been trying to restore an old European car for years but parts cost a fortune since you have to ship them from Europe and finding one for parts is rare around here. Well someone found me one, bought it for 200$ from an old guy and had it in the driveway yesterday. I was thrilled.
Apart from that I got almost nothing.
-
Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention, I got a new (lightly used) GUN!! That ought to make Comcrap happy!!

My parents gave me a kindle and a St. Bridget's Cross necklace (St. Bridget is my patron saint :-)) My grandparents gave my mom money, which she gave to me, which I used to buy some make-up, a wool coat, and some nice tea for my mom to wrap so that I could open them at my grandparents house :rotf: Lots of little gifts as well from other family members and friends. I made out pretty well :-)
I bought my little cousins (5 and 7) an adjustable height basketball hoop, a basketball, and a football. Somehow, that got beat out for the coolest gift title by Bakugan's :p I bet they'll use my gift for longer though. Their dad thought the sports stuff was great.
-
LOL, what does that have to do with it?
If you have to ask you won't understand the answer

That is possibly the first interesting thing you've contributed since you've been here. What kind of car is it?
There is a company in Kansas that specializes in MGs, Triumphs, and Austin Healeys.

I got a record player!!! (yes I know what year it is :lmao: )
My son gave me 6 bags of tulip bulbs -- I tried to give him a big kiss to thank him but he runs much faster than I can :-)! Hopefully I can keep them fresh until planting them this spring; probably store 'em in the basement.
