by swift water rescue in San Diego...

Yes down the road, literally, from where I am typing this. Got some good shots of the water cresting too.

33. Sadly I can...

I did the command of that flood... back in '93. Hills literally become rivers, and it ist he same places... Colonia Tres de Octubre, Sanchez Taboaada, the same places.

Per twitter 5,000 were evacuated last night.

As to San Diego... most places will be fine... but Fashion Valley is somewhat of a ghost town and 1\4 of it's parking is under water.

47. What is absolutely insane is that in this town

a few feet make all the difference.

I am where we would neet boats IF this was a fifty or hundred year flood.

The 20 year flood, we are doing just fine...

BUT... a hillside in front of Fashion Valley Mall, Friars is closed, not just because of the water... but I think it is getting unstable. There are houses at the top.

SHOULD get some bottled water though. I know better. Will do tomorrow.

Her hysteria cracks me up because I happen to live less than a mile from this dumb bitch and aside from some rain, things are fine.  Here's the alert that has her so worked up:

Wow!  How silly of her.

I was actually becoming concerned reading her report.  Some families from this area are there for an event this week, and we aren't familiar with water in a  volume greater than a bathtub.

Good post JS!  That chick blows everything out of proportion AND she seems to know EVERYTHING about any kind of emergency.

If there were any truth to it, which is a wild longshot, the idea that she was allowed to be in any position of authority in a previous emergency is the scariest thing in that thread.

Were there bodies in the trees? I don't get worked up until there are bodies hanging from the trees.

What always amazes me about this kind of crap in Cali...whether it's floods...mudslides or fires...the people who the MSM throws at us ad nauseum as poor "victims" will rebuild in the exact same spot as soon as they get their insurance check.

It's a self fulfilling prophecy.

It was in Galveston, and the DUmp was salivating in anticipation of the deaths they hoped would result from a half-assed hurricane that was jointly the fault of George W. Bush, and the global warming that he was chiefly responsible for.

DUmmy lonestarnut was the DUmbass who reported seeing trees on Galveston Island festooned with the corpses of countless Bush victims. For a short while, the DUmp rejoiced like it was Fitzmas, but then discovered the true victim count was zero. After absorbing that bitter disappointment, the Dump resumed its search for natural disasters caused by George W. Bush. DUmmy lonestarnut was briefly scorned for being such an imbecile, by the other democrat imbeciles. She has since been rehabilitated, but is no less an imbecile today than in 2005.

I was in Korea watching all of it go down when this idiot gets on there and starts this rumor that he's got a buddy working EMS that was telling him there were "bodies in trees" a family that had been washed into the Gulf inside a motel on the beach etc.

There were some long time FReepers that fell for it too.  I ran the BS flag up as soon as I read it.  Got reported to the Admin numerous times before common sense took over and some people actually turned on the TV.  I actually think that franksolich came to my rescue on that one too.

IN the end the moron spreading the rumor got banned.  But it was looking like I'd get the zot there for a little bit for not buying the hysteria.

Not my plan at all.....

I was put in charge of the VRWC weather machine for a week while someone (? don't know who) went on vacation. I was toying with it, snow up north, cold in the south, etc, when I got the bright idea of how to fix the illegal alien problem.

I was thinking that since we can't deport 'em back to Mexico, why not float 'em back. You know, large storm, lot of rain, high water, deep, fast running water. I thought all the Mexicans would hop on an inner tube and try to ride out the flood, get washed back to Mexico, you know....Just one little problem....tubeless tires.

Yep, a shortage of inner tubes defeated my brillant plans. Damn!  Cars, trucks, farm equipment, earth moving equipment, all have tubeless tires now.....Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Who's in charge of the weather machine next week? I'd like to get an accurate long range forecast from them.

Hang in there, Jake!

BTW--after my first Westpac on POGY, I ended up getting an apartment in Point Loma for the rest of the time I was stationed in SD.  I can't stand LA or SF, but I do miss SD (but not the traffic.)

Not really, Johnny . . . a buttload of them decided that having their bodies being found under a rock in an arroyo along the border just wasn't the thing they had in mind . . . for that week, anyway.
