23 percent can't pass military exam
23 percent can't pass military exam
MIAMI — Nearly one-fourth of the students who try to join the military fail its entrance exam, painting a grim picture of an education system that produces graduates who can't answer basic math, science and reading questions.

To be fair, one or two DUmmies stand up for the military not being stupid.
AP article. Let us not get in trouble for what the DU does wrong.

Can we cue the AP in? :hyper: :hyper: :fuelfire:

Based on the picture threads, I bet WAY more than 23% of the DUmmies couldn't pass the physical requirements to get in the military. Not to mention the psychological tests.
-
Now, do I want to spend my time with DUmb DUmmies or what they call DUmb grunts ?......hmmmmmm
Boy! That was a wasted split second.
-
Note to lurkers...the ones that get in aren't dumb. We're turning away the ones that can't figure out 1+1= 2 thanks to the screwed up government education system.
THAT is what the article is saying. It's not a condemnation of the military...but of the public schrools.

My experience as a field recruiter before going to Nuclear Recruiting was this: The less qualified the kid was, the more they thought they could milk out of the system. Kinda hard to explain to a kid with a 33 AFQT, barely got out of adult school, and barely passes with a telecon moral waiver for his police record that he's not going to be a SEAL because he doesn't qualify for a SEAL source rating.
Little shit like that.

This. What I stated elsewhere, what's even more appalling is the questions are general questions that apply to life, I.e. science, mathematics, engineering, etc. Skills that, in the absence a college degree, you still won't wind up on the back of a garbage truck if you have them.
This isn't an indictment of the US Military, it's an indictment of the federal Department of Education. You don't pass the ASVAB, you don't get into the military.

And what side of the political spectrum controls the schools? The LEFT. Whatever a leftist touches it soon turns to shit.

:jacked2:
Gawd, can you imagine a crew of DUmmies attempting to save the world, a la Armageddon? :clueless: :puke:
Anyone wanna draw up a cast of characters?

So about 23% can't pass the test and the same percentage in this country call themselves liberal, coincidence? I think not. As I said here before I dare any DUmmie to compare their work and what they have to know to the average Grunt or other military person and what they have to know to perform their jobs and see who's got the harder job. The fry cook at the local diner or an 11Bravo Infantry man?

Thank God for the school unions, huh DUmmies? ::)
Because they are all for the kids. ::)

I dare the DUmmies to look into the racial divide in this story and figure out what schools these applicants come from. Any bets what party controls the states and or cities they come from?
Better yet, how 'bout the $$$/child that's spent in these districts?

They spend twice as much per student in Fulton County (Atlanta) as they do in Columbia County (outside of Augusta), yet Columbia County schools are some of the best in the state. Fulton County's suck. Also, there are two magnet schools in the dismal Richmond County, A.R. Johnson and Davison Fine Arts. Both are very diverse and some of the best in the state. However, one has to compete to gain entry. That's like Kryptonite to the Dims. Black kids that have to compete, do extremely well. ...but the Dims don't exactly want black people to succeed, do they?
