Are Employers Trying To Take Advantage Of The Bad Economy?
You betcha. I found this as I was perusing craigslist for jobs.

You have got to be kidding! You expect to pay someone $7.50 for this job and you want them to have 4+ years of experience and a degree? Don't forget you get what you pay for. If you want someone with that qualification, pay them! You employers are so damn cheap, you want people to work exceptionally well but you don't want to pay them. I would never work for $7.50 per hour no matter how bad the economy is. Get a life!

1. There is a sad aspect to human nature...
too many people are not satisfied until they can have actual slaves. That includes most Republicans would be all socialists/communists.
Fixed for the primitive. :-)

So a small company is trying to hire a part time bookkeeper for a little more than minimum wage, and that equals slavery to the DUmmies. No wonder so many of them are unemployed :mental:

Any bets that the DUchebag removed a digit from the posting to make a point? I think the number was probably $17.50.

No kiddin'! It's either that or a typo! DUmmies are quick to look for worst case scenario!
If it is in fact legit, the company's goin' to be waitin' a long time to fill the position. Either that or the term, "ya gets whats ya pay for", comes to mind!

I did a Google search with a sentence directly from her post, and got no hits, other than on DU. I tried a few key words, and found no results. This looks like a complete fabrication.

BTW, tried finding it in the full time positions, but this one was specifically placed in the part time section.
This moron doesn't want to work. It wants something to bitch about.

If you look to the right at jobs, go alllll the way down to the bottom. The DUmmie is a leech, nothing more, nothing less. There are TONS of jobs in the Orlando area and anyone looking would have been in the full time section. This job is a job for a damn student. :whatever:

Starting wage at Walgreens is 7.50 an hour. At least in Texas it is. There's alot of people working at Walgreens.

I dunno, but why is the grammar so atrocious in the ad? Sounds like a Chinese menu or Japanese instructions. These campus jobs are tailor made for the students there. Part time, something in the field, a few bucks to help make ends meet. I did it myself at the Grad Student Assoc, got a ton of studying done, for $4/hour.

Rebel, I stand corrected. I do not think any business really expects a bookkeeper with any experience to work for .25 above minimum wage.
I found this one in our area that looks very similiar:

1 craiglist post ≠all jobs everywhere
Not that such facts would stop them from demanding major federal legislation.

They're looking for a part-timer with minimum quals, except for the "4+ years experience in AP/Bookkeeper" (Which I suspect is a wish, not a requirement) you can just barely even call it an entry-level position. The $7.50 isn't that much of a surprise.
Capitalism, baby...if they find someone who meets quals to take it at that wage and they work out, it was the right offer, otherwise the job stays vacant until they up the ante to market.
