Bradley Manning is on suicide watch. Yes, this is torture. Updated at 10:07 PM
Accused Wikileaks source Bradley Manning's daily life in maximum security and on suicide watch, from his lawyer. Is he being softened up so that the US can get him to say what they want? What would you do after 5 months of this?
18 december 2010
A Typical Day for PFC Bradley Manning
PFC Manning is currently being held in maximum custody. Since arriving at the Quantico Confinement Facility in July of 2010, he has been held under Prevention of Injury (POI) watch.
His cell is approximately six feet wide and twelve feet in length.
...
At 5:00 a.m. he is woken up (on weekends, he is allowed to sleep until 7:00 a.m.). Under the rules for the confinement facility, he is not allowed to sleep at anytime between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. If he attempts to sleep during those hours, he will be made to sit up or stand by the guards.
...
He is not allowed to have any personal items in his cell.
He is only allowed to have one book or one magazine at any given time to read in his cell. The book or magazine is taken away from him at the end of the day before he goes to sleep.
He is prevented from exercising in his cell. If he attempts to do push-ups, sit-ups, or any other form of exercise he will be forced to stop.

1. Hang in there Bradley. If things continue as they seem to be doing,

Many of us may be living similar lives.
Do you plan on betraying our country too?

2. So, this is what you get for taking that "all enemies, foreign and domestic" pledge seriously.
He's a hero, and I'd write him a folk song, if I knew how.

9. I thought there were supposed to be protections for whistleblowers.
Obviously not.
I am firmly of the belief that the rule of law in the U.S. requires resuscitation......
A whistle blower would have used the legal resources that the military has to report any kind of shady dealings if there were any. Instead he leaked classified information to some punk. He violated the terms of his service and committed treason.
I'm not surprised in the least that this traitor is the hero du jour at DUmmyland.

That part alone would be considered torture by the DUmmies. It would be too much like having a job.
-
If he's truly suicidal, he should be given access to an unlimited supply of sleeping pills.
-
Just get CalPeg to write him a poem.
Oops, sorry, I don't want to make the guys who have to monitor him have an even harder job of it to keep him from suiciding.
-
So, he is getting 9 hours of sleep a night and spends his day reading. I bet the prisoners in the old Soviet gulags would have given their right arm for that sort of "torture".
-
I came across a biography of a Yale English professor who was arrested in the 1980's during a visit to China and sent to a labor camp for mailing newspaper articles from the US until he was finally freed and returned to the United States.
Let Manning make some ******* bricks. He's earned it.
-
So are they having a pay per view yet?

I see no problems with this. He's in prison, not on vacation!
And considering what people imprisoned in other countries go through, this isn't torture. Call the effing WHAAAAAAMBULANCE. ::)

They won't let him read gay romance novels....how intolerable.

Shit, this is tame compared to boot camp.
Even Air Force boot camp.

Once again, with feeling . . . (and the iambic patameter is fixed in the last line)
We got the rope,
We got the tree!
Now all we need
Is the traitor Bradley! :-) :fuelfire:  :yahoo:

No exercise, he can still crack the knuckles on his fingers and toes. There are no guards that will observe him 24/7 so he can still sneak a few stretches from time to time. He can have visits from his Priest or pastor, His head shrinks and other experts on his defence team.
He can brush his teeth and wash his face, gets 3 squares a day, cracks a tooth, free dentist, gets a belly ache doctor examines him for problem and he is given medication by the staff.
He is still allowed mail from his lawyers and to write personal letters to family. One cannot be too hard on the man, he has not been proved guilty ---YET.
I am sure this man is not starved for human contact, his cell must be like a zoo with all the visitors he gets to find out just how he was able to pull this off and how to prevent it from happening
again.
With us going crazy about the gays in the military, and he says he is gay, what is to stop a gay guard for becoming attracted to him and bringing in all kind of contraband for him ??
I wonder who the guard that snuck in a cell phone to Charlie Manson is and he was ever caught.???
-
This limp-wristed, lame assed POS traitor is getting twice the sleep I do.
**** HIM, **** LIBERALS, **** DUmmies!
GO TO HELL, EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!
-
Vesta, your post shows just how ignorant you are about the military. Stick to being a "Navy Wife". ;)
-
Shit, this is tame compared to boot camp.
Even Air Force boot camp.
That's what I was thinking.
-
He is in pretrial confinement, which is different than punishment under the UCMJ; he can't be mixed with convicted prisoners, nor 'punished' by hard labor, but he also does stay completely confined and subject to whatever duty schedule the facility imposes. Doesn't sound torturous to me.
He would do the world and the Army a huge favor if he did off his own fabulous little weasel self, though.

AYE<AYE Sir, will do on the double,----drop my boobs and grab my shoes, ----When do we go ashore sir,
Why is that woman walking so funny?
Hubby got home last night from a 6 month cruise.
Why is that sailor walking so strange,
He is the Hubby and she was glad to see him.
-
Just more proof that the DUmmies are on the wrong side of EVERYTHING.
-
Peyton and Eli are humiliated.
-
Just get CalPeg to write him a poem.

Somewhere in deep space, the Vogons are reeling in horror at this post...

Here may be the problem, it is all so possible to brain wash the younsters into thinking they are in fact helping their country.
Check out what the kids are being taught in school by authority figures, Gay is normal, my two moms or dads.
If you love your parents, turn, in your parents for drugs, it will help them in the long run.
What comes next, turn in the parents for speaking against Obama, ---Click Click, Obama he's our man, here to save us, yes he can--Click-click.
Oh so easy to manipulated the youth in the military, these are young men today and having come from a liberal education are prime beef on the hoof to convince them that they can save America and the world .
I cannot see why this man did what he did--money, perhaps thinking he was helping his country Darn this kid was the sacrificed goat.
But what happens if he cannot be found guilty, just one or two people pointed the finger at him.
This trial will be interesting, but I bet it will take 3 years before it happens.
I am being the devils advocate here---just hoping to get information about this case from others that I may have missed.
If in fact this man is found guilty, believes what he did was honorable, he needs to realise the millions of Americans within his age group that also died for honor and face them.
Build a gallow at Arlington Cemetary and let him walk about for a couple hours looking at the graves. Next, sit him front and center for the changing of the guard on a night when the temperture is -4 and watch the guard still walking his area come rain or snow, ice or 90 degree temputures, this is honor.
Come sunrise take him to the top of the hill to see our capital in all its glory, then hang the son of a bitch.

Imagin how he would feel if he had someone like Gunnery SGT Hartman as his Drill Instrutor?

Well I was gonna say put him in general population with the rest of the guys. I doubt any of these guys like a snitch. Since he ain't been convicted yet, keep him where is his if/until he is convicted. If he is convicted, then put him in with the other guys.
-

Fixed it fer ya. :II:
