5. This is the worst thing that could happen to Democracy.
This is as serious as corporations getting to spend all they want on elections, except in reverse as it serves to silence the individuals who currently can be heard throughout the net.
Woe is us. If the FCC sides with the corporations, We the People will be getting the royal First Amendment screw from a Democratic administration.
Obama said there is too much information available.

10. giving ultimate control over the Internet to a small handful of carriers
Gee.. would that be right-wing CONservative corporations and Banksters... like Clear Channel and Fox?
One thing is for sure.. they will figure out a way to charge more for internet access and rape the customers.
Um, no. Most of those corporations gave to Obama. Google gave tons o' money to Teh Won.

Obama is the worst thing that ever happened to this country. And yes, the FCC is just following Obama's wishes.

Why do we even have the FCC? Let's just get rid of them. TV and radio would be much better with out the annoying bleeps when a "naughty" word is said. If I don't like the language, I will click my TV to a different channel. BBC is more fun to watch than American TV. They can get away with saying "cock" on television, we cannot.
-
As my liberal friends reminded me during the Bush administration, the FCC was originally established to assign and regulate radio broadcast frequencies and not the content that they carried. I remember a few raising a big stink about the switch to digital broadcast which would have closed all the analog channels to public use and allowed Booosh to take over the public airwaves by executive fiat. Or something.

I don't know how this is all going to shake out, or even who has authority to do what. The DUmp is hyperventilating, though.
Speaking of the FCC, Boortz was saying yesterday that Al Sharpton is going to go to the FCC (Thursday I think) to try and "pull Rush Limbaugh's license." Don't you think if you were that stupid, you'd stay home in bed with the covers over your head, rather than risk utter humiliation in public?

Hey, it's Al Sharpton. Forget about it, he's rolling.

Besides they have the better Top Gear.
But you can't say fanny on the BBC.

You got that right! Jeremy Clarkson MAKES that show. He should be in jail for what he does to James and Richard. :rotf:
I've watched the "other" Top Gear. Lame! :loser:

I wonder if Rush gets a new license each year, or if he just adds a sticker.
Rev. Al would have a better chance of persuading the FCC to send Rush to The Hague. Which reminds me, whatever happened to The Hague? Not long ago, it was the ultimate destination of anyone who fell into disfavor at the DUmp, but they haven't mentioned it in months. Maybe it has something to do with Alexander Haig's death.

The DUmmies don't talk much about the Hague since Obama has continued many of President Bush's policies.
