The Senate passed its version of the tax deal by a wide margin this week, but in the House, the plan appears to be in jeopardy. Democratic leadership had to pull the rule governing the debate on the bill after liberals in their caucus revolted and threatened to send it to a defeat. One Democrat called it a “speed bump,†but as of yet the road to passage has not opened:

A lot of theater. As I understand the situation, San Fran Nan has not been letting any of non-returning Dem Reps vote in the caucus, which means it is dominated by the radical Lib nutcases from hard Left districts in a way which does not reflect how the Dems as a whole would vote in a full House ballot.

I think it's good actually. I hope that taxes go up in January and then the repubs can redo the bill in mid January. Make the democraps socialists and commies look even worse than they already do.

I love it. She might be safe, but that puts that many more Senate and House seats in play come 2012.
