Can You Tell The Difference Between Boys and Girls?

My students take the following test at the beginning of our genetics and reproduction unit. It's a fun way to introduce the subject and tie it into bigger social issues.

Test your gender IQ. Take the Baby X Test below.

Directions

Get out some scratch paper and record the number of the image
Record your answer (male or female)
Answers are given at the end of the test

http://modeducation.blogspot.com/2010/12/are-girls-and-...

60% here.

Analysis

Most people score somewhere near 50% on similar tests. The reason is that babies have not yet developed any secondary sexual characteristics (e.g., facial hair, breasts) and, without any gender-identifying cues (e.g., pink or blue clothing; bows or ribbons), a baby’s gender is not obvious (without taking of the diaper, of course).

Yet babies start to pick up gender cues almost immediately. Adults often treat babies differently depending on their gender (e.g., tone of voice, types of play).

The babies observe their surroundings, how other children and grown ups dress and behave, advertisements, television. Our assumptions and prejudices influence how our children develop their own gender identities, but so does their environment and society .

Good Lord.  :banghead:

The boys have a Johnson. The girls don't.

End of story.

Personally I think there is a Hell of a lot more to it than gender cues.  Our oldest was our one daughter, the rest sons, and despite going to great lengths to let them play to their strengths without feeding them roles, before they could talk and mostly with very little peer influence besides their sibs, they each gravitated irresistibly to activity and playthings traditional to their respective genders.

In DUmmyland, boys & girls should play with gender neutral toys (whatever the Hell those are). In the real world, boys naturally want to play with toy trucks, G.I. Joe and toy guns, while girls naturally want to play with dolls, doll houses and make-up.

I was reading a HennaBell thread just the other day which was very similar to a LTE in the local FW.  All about how wonderful education is in Finland.  If the game gets boring maybe I will look for some links.  Suffice to say in Finland kids don't go to school until the are seven.  Here there is a rush to get the little nippers out to pre school, head start or whatever asap.  They seem to miss (or ignore) that point.

When I think back to all the cruel things we use to say about the Ed majors, never realizing the effect they would have on future generations.  And then there were the Phy Ed. majors.  Now I wake up nights in a cold sweat wondering how many of them became administrators............... :old:

If you're talking about babies and children, yes, it's very easy. But when you look at the pervs on a DUmp picture thread, around a third of them are impossible to identify.

By the  time they can move around well on their own, it is frequently easy to tell by their toy choices.  If any of my grandsons picked up a doll, it was to use for target practice, wrestle with, or pretend it's a gun.  My granddaughters may pick up a gun or truck, but the gun will be swung like a baton or bat...not aimed at someone, and the truck will "make animal sounds."  These kids grow up watching the same parents/movies/etc...but definitely act "by sex," not gender neutral or by programming.  It takes a ton of work to convince a small child to consistently act opposite their sex.

Edited to correct typing mistakes made with 16 month old "grand" in my lap.. :lmao:

Errrrr Zeitgeist, I live for some time in a Finnish society in the upper peninsula of Michigan.. Outside The college town and was astounded at the practices of the Finns.

My EX-mother in law was upset as I refused to Sauna with her, husband and the mail man.  Communal saunas every where $20.00 an hour. Those that owned homes built their own out back---an interesting tradition.

Then the thing that set me back was when I put my son in 4'th grade they insisted on keeping him back a year.  The boy got streaight A's but was very short for his age.  MIL agreed with the school that an extra year would not harm him but give him a better grounding in his studys.

WTF, a yankee measures a male from the neck up, a good mind is more important then how long his leg bones are.

For some strange reason this did in fact give my son a leg up on schooling and when he got that spurt of growth in his teens he shot right up.

Finnish kids are raised from early age to Sauna naked with strangers and grandparents.   For some reason the children have no  unnatural feeling about their bodys or peep into windows to see what they have never seen before.  No mystery there just same old, same old, no reason to fantisise about the other sex.

In no way was this like any nudist colony, the people were there to clean themselves nothing more.

Zeitgist, I loved the people, their life style even as I went against it, the girls and I would sauna and the boys with their father would do so.

Had My children been born into that life style I just do not know what I would have done, I am a yankee and the idea of me bathing with strangers or with my older children is something that culture cannot overcome.

An interesting fact i came across as I asked my MIL about her origions with parents born in Findland.  Those first generation Finns came from a land that was not unlike the days of slavery here.

Her Sir name and that of her husbands came from the land owner they worked for.

I went to that link she posted. I was 9/10. So yes, I can tell the difference without checking under the diaper.

Also, as the mother of a daughter who tried to give her child non-gender specific toys...let's just say I believe that the Disney corporation snuck in after her birth and implanted a chip in her brain that made her want anything with a princess on it.

Well Vesta, I just don't know what to say to all this.  Not to go too far off topic, but,  I will tell you that I was in a Finnish sauna right around the corner when John John was being baptized down on the Cape.  I was a teen ager, baby doll nighties were all in fashion, the compound I was visiting had a dorm for summer waitresses. Playboy was a pale comparison to what I saw that weekend.

Any how here is a link to the  thread I mentioned:

Very small blaze but it does have a comment by the p2bl dummy. I forget what Frank calls her.

Hannah is a fool.

There is one thing I truly would like to understand aboout the DUmmies, and other leftists in general.  The latest information that seems to be in any of their filters, especially when it comes to science, seems to be wedge ins from the 1970s.  They think we can control the weather, to any significant extent.  They think we can unlike secrets to all sorts of cures for diseases, if only we murder enough babies, the same scientific argument used for abortion is used to justify researching embryonic stem cells.  They post about boys and girls being the exact same, a thoroughly discredited view based on 1970s feminist dogma.  They assume that men are the guilty party and women are the poor victims, despite overwhelming evidence that indicates women are at a minimum as often as agressors as men.

I don't get that.  Maybe AllentownJake can stick his head up and explain.

We have three kids - the oldest two are girls, the youngest a boy -

And even though we naturally had a collection of girlish toys leftover from his big sisters, he was always a boy - and had no interest in their dolls, and only a couple of select stuffed toys. He did claim their magnadoodles and building blocks, legos and whatnot as soon as he could handle them.

I can only suppose that there are traits that are genetically hardwired beyond skin/eye color, immunity to illness, height etc..

This me makes me wonder about the studies that showed that if a child was incorrectly diagnosed as being mentally ill and placed in a hospital with adults that the children would watch and imitated the actions of the ill adults as normal,  IE. rocking back and forth, sudden outbursts etc.

This in turn leads me to the field of Gays adopting children .----YIKES, ----

Along these lines I have noticed that adopted children to heterosexual couples will soon demonstrate the manorisms of the parents as their blood children will do. So much so that at times the adopted kids resembled the parents more then the blood children did.

The tilt of the head, the hand movements, even the speech patterns of the parents.

It stands to reason then when a gay couple adopt a child of any sex, the child for the first 3-4 years or so will unconsciously mimic the trites of the parents. If all they know is same sex parents and that love and care comes from same sex people, then the child will equate their life with the parents life style.

I saw this first hand when I baby sat the 6 year old boy being raised by two woman.  He dressed in male clothing but referred to his skivies as panties.   This little boy had coppied his parents life style so far as to look and act more famine then my daughters did.     When he showed me his room there was not one thing in there that could be considered a Boy toy, no trucks or Zoom-Zoom cars, all was Barbie Shit.

To this day I wonder what happend to that little boy, did he grow up to feel that mentally he was a woman in a male body.??

Then there is Chez, Cher's son/daughter, who can explain that,  WTF went on in her family to cause this, even poor Cher is bewildered at her child's actions.

Then there is crazy me, I was a tom boy that hated dolls, I enjoyed trucks , tanks and planes digging up dirt, climbing trees and horse back riding, the heck with dolls that just sat there.  Who the heck wants to pretend a baby doll was real when I could plow down heaps of sand with a Tonka toy.

Yet I was the first girl in my 8 grade class to wear lipstick and the first to get my ears pierced soon found that hanging out with boy was more fun then sitting about with girls that had just one ambition in life and that was to marry and raise real life baby dolls.

Irony was I was the one to have the real life baby's, I was the one that married and became  Susie homemaker.  My class mates who thought of nothing else but become house wives went on to become professionals with few children.

Interesting how life turns out, ----So I taught my niece to sew, but at the same time I am all ready to jump in a sand box with little boys to play for hours with them and the trucks, bull dozers and steam shovel toys of today.

Children are complicated as adults, with babys and young children we never know when our reactions to them will either make or break them 20 years later down the line.

Hannah Bell once said (within the year) "I am not connected in any way with the education system, nor are any of my family members."   Yet she hangs out in the education forum and now mentions students.  I keep an eye on this, because she's teaching the nation's children, and she's A FULL BLOWN COMMUNIST DIRTBAG.

For me it was either a princess or a horse. I was a big fan of Princess Anne as as a youngster as she was a princess that rode a horse. I managed to kill two birds with one stone. :-)
