This is the same guy that co-sponsored the incandescent light bulb ban in the 2005 EPA legislation.  Now he wants to "re-evaluate" the issue.

GOP-Controlled House Committees Take Shape (http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2010/12/07/gop-controlled-house-committees-take-shape)

One of the biggest surprises of the process came late Monday, when Boehner - who controls a majority of the seats on the Steering committee - released a statement endorsing Rep. Jeff Flake of Arizona for a seat on Appropriations. Two years earlier, Flake, an ardent opponent of earmarks, had sought a seat on the panel, but the GOP leadership - then supporting earmarks - rebuffed him.

GOP picks big spender and Fannie reformer for top panels (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/gop-taps-big-spender-fannie-reformer-to-top-posts-2010-12-08)

The House Republican leadership, led by incoming House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio, chose Rep. Harold Rogers of Kentucky to be chairman of the House Appropriations Committee.

Kentucky’s Rogers beat out Rep. Jack Kingston of Georgia, who was backed by conservative groups including the Club for Growth, and Rep. Jerry Lewis of California for the job. Boehner and other GOP leadership officials would have had to waive term-limits to allow Lewis, the current ranking member of the committee, to become chairman.

Meanwhile, top GOP lawmakers also picked Rep. Spencer Bachus of Alabama to head the House Financial Services Committee.

Hi Chris,

Is there a conservative article or something that gives us an idea of what this means?  I just finished reading a bulletin produced is Switzerland which basically says the Republicans will screw it up by putting the old guard in positions of authority.  I read this and wonder if he is spot on.

thanks,

That was the impression I got, but I can't say I know each of these people's individual records.
