did you catch the new conference? They are positively ecstatic!

After listening to the President speak and try to explain his reasoning, it felt as if he'd stuck a stick in my eye.

We don't matter, people. Why even vote or fight for votes to send people to do our business if this is all we get??

By the end of the Kenyan's term, you'll be begging for Sarah Palin!  :-)

I watch Obama, when I first saw him he looked tired and older. I almost felt sorry for him.....then he spoke and I couldn't stand him all over again.

Obama is also lisping those "S"s much more now.

To the original question, there is nothing wrong with it.  Crying and whining DUmmys were put on this earth to bring joy to others.

It depends, lars, sir, why one is laughing at a DUmmie.

I get occasional criticism because of the way I ride the hippywife Mrs. Alfred Packer, because there's some who think she's a nice person.  A little odd, but a nice person.

Mrs. Alfred Packer is not a nice person.

Anyway, so Mrs. Alfred Packer's mother recently died.

Did I take great joy in that?

Of course not; it's very sad that an old woman couldn't live long enough to see her adult daughter get some sense.

Because franksolich is a gentleman, franksolich has put off release of this year's "Mrs. Alfred Packer does Christmas," until a decent interval of mourning has passed, and hippywife can better enjoy the story.

I'm chomping at the bit to release the story, but franksolich has courtesy and good manners.

So something bad happened to Mrs. Alfred Packer; her mother died.

What one does laugh at, however, is the pain Mrs. Alfred Packer feels as a consequence of her own narrow-mindedness and bigotry.  There is a way to ameliorate that pain, but hippywife won't use it.

Mrs. Alfred Packer thinks she's smarter than God, and the pain isn't ever going to go away until she returns to what had sustained her ancestors generations past, hundreds of years past.

Instead, hippywife thinks that taking mood-altering pharmaceuticals will ease the pain, the loneliness.

franksolich has seen lots and lots of people do that.

The problem is, franksolich hasn't ever seen it work.

She has the solution, but narrow-mindedly won't use it, because God isn't "cool".

So one laughs at her misery--and not only laughs, but contemptuously laughs.

We all make our own happiness and misery from within, and it's in her power to ameliorate her misery, but she won't use that Power.

No. Not at all they are the reason this country has to suffer with the debt it has and why millions are acting like something is owed to them and they are a drain on the productive people this country still has. They do not deserve our pity, they deserve our scorn.

I understand now, you dont laugh at a close personal pain but more of a collective pain. :)

Wrong?? It's among the most enjoyable opportunities afforded by the intertubes! In the grand tradition of freudenschade, there are few things more entertaining than, for example, reading the DUmp on the evening of Election Day 2004. Watching the DUmmy euphoria of the afternoon's bogus exit poll data gradually morph into their horror at W's triumphant reelection was enormously satisfying. Today's meltdown was minor by comparison, but nice nonetheless.

Or one can take the subway cat, the undergroundpanther primitive, as another example.

It's not nice to make fun of the mentally-ill, and decent and civilized people don't.

However, the subway cat is another one of those who have a door, but they won't go inside it.

Most of the subway cat's "mental problems" would evaporate if she held down a job.

But no, it's easier to depend upon taxpayer-paid mood-altering pharmaceuticals, than to do that.

No one here laughs at the subway cat's mental illness; what we all laugh at is that she has the means to alleviate her problems, but pigheadedly refuses to.  And sooner or later, she's going to pay the consequences of that attitude; the well is drying up, and society in general, when looking at the subway cat, will suddenly decide she's not worth the money they so magnanimously and generously bestow upon her.....and then what is she to do?

The old maxim of Lenin: he who does not work, does not eat.

Not only the well of money sunk into that waste but I noticed the threads she starts dont get the visiters anymore :)

Another good example is the gigantic primitive, "Systematic Chaos."

No, it's not nice to make fun of fat people, and beauty and ugliness are only skin-deep, and so decent and civilized people, such as members of conservativecave, don't making fun of fat people.

But again, what is laughable--and contemptuously so--is that the gigantic primitive has this problem, and pigheadedly rejects any possible solutions.  If he can't be a nutritional consultant, well then, he'd just as soon wallow in fat and ride the social security gravy-train (until of course it reaches the end of the line, which it inevitably must).

His fatness is a consequence of his attitude, and we're laughing at his piss-poor attitude.

Trust me, if the gigantic primitive sees any threat to his gravy-train because it's determined he can work, he's going to be chomping down on bushels of Big Macs like, real fast.
