CANONSBURG, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania town has removed a Nativity scene from the borough building after a resident complained.
Canonsburg Borough Manager Terry Hazlett told the Observer-Reporter of Washington that he received a written complaint last week from resident Megan Hartley. She wrote that the creche was disrespectful to citizens who aren't Christian and that it shouldn't be displayed at a government building.
"When you have separation of church and state, you don't have much choice," Hazlett said.

HA, you think this is bad.
At the place of work I was in for 22 years a friend called me to give me her tale of woe. She still works there and keeps me up on gossip etc.
At this place of work lately the workers are working about 56 hours a week, 16 hours mandatory. Over time Yippie.
Normal 10 hour days standing in one place is hard enough for 4 days a week now the extra time is a killer to body and soul. I know full well as I and Hubby had 22 + 26 years working for this company.
What to do for the original 10 hours of mind bending nothing but hear the thumping of the machines and the noise so loud one needs ear plugs or ear muffs. This is a work field where everything said has to be repeated 2-3 times to get over the noise.
In the past we on the lines would sing Xmas songs and whatever, when the season came about to break the same old same old..
Not just people from one faith, everyone sang along be it Chinese new year to Easter.
This year for some unknown reason a woman--White, Christian and a worker for 2 years there complained about the workers singing Anything.
This woman who has worked as a Temp there and never been hired on full time shut down the the only relief the workers have. The Latinos who we loved to hear sing, no more singing. The unusual songs from Asia gone. The blacks with their rap music gone.
One person singing OK, 3 or more singing with her not good.
Not a big problem on the face of the earth at this time, just one woman who is pissed at not being hired full time causing 60 or so others a pain in the Ass.
She is just one of others that take their personal frustrations out on others and she like others coming into a new area use PC to become important in their own mind.
So far she has not complained about the Xmas tree the company puts in the cafeteria ---give her time and that will be gone.

I love NH. Driving up and down Route 1 to and from work in Hampton Falls, I get to see the NATIVITY scene. That's right, DUmmies--CHRIST. Mary. Joseph. All of that.
And I'll do you a favor. Show me where it talks about "separation of church and state" in the Constitution, and I'm sure you can get the town to take it down. Personally, that political hack should have told the young miss to kindly eat a nice hot bowl of STFU.

That pisses me off WTF is it hurting you sorry ass woman

Liberalism is a mental disorder. I have to repeat it all the time. I am so convinced it is.

Canonsburg Borough Manager Terry Hazlett said he received a written complaint from resident Megan Hartley. She wrote that the crèche was disrespectful to citizens who aren't Christian and that it shouldn't be displayed at a government building.
Hartley told Channel 4 Action News reporter Keith Jones that she has received hate email and angry comments on her live journal web page since filing the complaint. She said that she has every right to request that the borough building remove the crèche.

What is it with these thin skinned narrow minded people ?
Do they have such miserable lives that they have to inflict it on every one around them before they feel satisfied ?
As a non-christian the most attention I'll pay to a Christmas or Easter display regardless of placement - is to admire the effort that went into a particularly large or complicated one.
Atheists often make even the hardline Islamic clerics look like a poster child of tolerance.

I work for a Catholic-owned hospital. We have a Virgin Mary statue up year-round, and a life size nativity scene at Christmas. We have pictures of Christ on the wall, sing Christmas hymns at a special service in the main lobby every year. I wonder how long it will be before hospitals are considered "public domain?"

I never understood them. They are just narcissistic and histrionic. It is all about "Me! Me! Me!". I am not religious either and the nativity scene never bothered me.

H5.
The phrase "Seperation of Church and state" doens't exist in the Constitution.

Nor does the right to NOT be offended. These 'tards need to move on with their lives and live and let live.

Well, I wouldn't go THAT far. Atheists tend to raise a ruckus about displays of Christianity. Usually not a peep about Jewish, Hindu or Islamic symbols though in the case of Islam they're as leary of unleashing jihad on their heads as the next relatively sane person.
Hardline Islamic clerics have given us 9/11. For that, Hell itself is too lenient a punishment.
