Nothing pisses me off more than the false equivalency of "shared sacrifice"

First of all it's a the worst kind of lie. There is no shared sacrifice. The burden of "sacrifice" lies entirely on the middle class and the poor. Secondly, even if there was some form of shared sacrifice, just what are the wealthy being asked to sacrifice with slightly higher taxes? There way of life? Nope. Of course not.

The working poor are being asked to "sacrifice", well, everything. The middle classes are being asked to sacrifice such things as a college education for their children.

And the wealthy? To those to whom much is given..... nothing is asked.

What are they given?  Look to the poor, when you talk about being "given" something.

2. If it was requiered, they could not give it.

That is actually part of the argument for no government, however when they don't do it, some can be taken from them to still help people in need by social safety nets.

Does it really make sense to not tax the wealthy at all so they can give freely if they chose all that they could have, and let many suffer for that ability for them to make the choice with everything they could have?

They can have a higher tax, and still do much good with moneys or other things they might have, what ever they may be.

But the basic point is if man was required without choice to do what is right, then really what would it say about them, not much, and they would not exist anyways. So although it has been said much could be expected of them, to say that they have to, would not help them.

So the question is, does making the rich give a little, to help many, change their choice of to give? They can always give more if they want, or not, but letting people suffer by that argument, heh, doesn't really make sense.

There is an exclusion from that, it is possible the rich already gave away all their money, and have been paying for think tanks, and R and D, and lobbyist and such, and they really don't have any money at all. However that does not match up to the lifestyle choice they have, and if that was true, then the fault would be them perpetuating the myth that they have money to try and get people to think they have power, and then trying to get somethings to give to others by skimming off of other peoples work.

It is completely possible that many of the wealthy really have very little, and it is to create the perception that they are rich that is the purpose. For instance Madoff really had no money, but the perception of him having money allowed him to make some decisions for himself and others on where things would go. So it really is a deep topic.

WTF?

Yup . . . that one definitely qualifies as a "random thought."

There's pills for that, ya know . . . Prozac and Zoloft come to mind.

These people are such crybabies.

If/when I ever become a millionaire/billionaire, a bunch of my HARD EARNED money would go towards different charities every month.  And just for fun, I think I'd go door to door in deserving communities and give money during the holidays.  And by deserving, I mean the neighborhoods where it's a lower income area, but everyone still works really hard for their money.  I'm not talking about the neighborhoods where everyone is sitting around on $2 plastic chairs on their front lawn all day.

I really don't understand why RT is so underrated.  Look at that post.  Does it make sense?  Hell no.  Is it written grammatically correct?  Yeah.  And no matter how many times you will read it, you won't understand it.  That kind of effed up takes a lot of work.  I mean, wow.

A lot of work, or a lot of drugs.

I'm betting the latter.

Cali forgets to mention the 'welfare generations' from whom nothing is expected, from whom nothing is contributed and to whom everything is given from everyone who takes responsibility for their own lives.

Puhleeeze, dotcha know that those people are the real heart of our economic engine?  Just ask Nazi Pelosi. Without those unproductive people leeching off the system we would be in a depression.

Tell you what DUmmies you want shared sacrifices I have a plan. We will allow you to raise taxes on the evil rich in return, you have to give up all benefits from the govt. Since taxing the piss out of the rich will create so many jobs we won't need the safety net anymore, right?
