For those of you in your 50s, 60s, 70s, or beyond, can you recall being more angry at your . . . .
. . . . elected representatives than you are right now?
Know what loser...no one cares.

1. Never.
In fact, I feel like I'm an American only by accident of birth. There's no pride anymore.
Leave or die then.

4. No
nor have I ever been so disillusioned with a good number of my fellow citizens who voted for some of them...
I guess I feel considerably more helpless at this time than I ever have before

27. Helpless sucks
The weight of reality is heavier than usual and knowing that it's probably going to get heavier with the new Congress doesn't help.
I seem to have misplaced my hope somewhere....
You want something for nothing...that doesn`t happen in life so your disappointment is your own fault.

8. No. They clearly are not my representatives. So who do they represent?
Sane people.

15. Always had hope
now I just don't know.
They aren't even running from the corruption - bragging about it as an ideology instead.

56. No. I alway thought they would work hard to represent my interests.
Now their spinelessness as a group has me completely baffled and very angry.
Your interests are counter productive to mine of a growing vibrant economy.
You just want for you.

57. No, this is the first time I've felt like NO ONE is looking after my interests.
Where is my mommy and daddy government??

95. Yes, several times
1968, 1974, 1982, 1987, 1991, and a few others.
Always so angry.

Uh, Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson's congressman over there in Maryland is Elijah Cummings.
Surely the sparkling husband primitive's not upset with Elijah.

I can't recall being so pleased for a very long time myself, between the GOP Senators actually growing a spine and even total hard-over Obamabot Claire McCaskill standing up for eliminating earmarks!*
*By the way, the defenders of earmarks including some GOP stalwarts like Sen. Inhofe point out that they amount to a relatively minor part of the total Federal budget, which is technically true. However, the multimillion dollar highway project for Inhofe in Oklahoma that 'Doesn't represent that big a slice,' even with 500-odd other similar ones added to it, are the currency to buy votes for trillions of dollars in expenditures on other programs, and this institutionalized corruption HAS GOT TO GO!

If the losers at the DUmp are angry and hopeless, we must be moving in the right direction.

Indeed, Jukin. What a lovely thread. It's blizzarding outside, yet I feel all warm and glowing after reading their misery.

Think the angst has anything to do with them losing their 99 weeks?

Think the angst has anything to do with them losing their 99 weeks?
Seems kind of unlikely to be a big factor, given the small percentage of them that have actually been employed at a job eligible for UIC in the last two years...

Doubt it. Now if SSDI, Section 8, and welfare were being cut it would be the only topic on the DUmp.

How quickly they forget the Sturm, Drang und Angst of the Bush years, when Dems were seen as enemy collaborators and Republicans were seen as the enemy. I think, deep down inside, they're all happy as hell the Repubs will be controlling the House for at least two years; it's been really stupid of them to keep crying about the minority party when it's been the minority party in both houses of Congress and the Presidency. Now they can quit their internal warfare and go back to dissing the Republicans non-stop. :whatever:

Damn, DAT, you read my mind like a book. (Now, if you'd get out of the parts of my mind that read like an issue of Penthouse Letters, I'd be grateful. ) H5 given!
