Is anyone opposed to raising the gas tax?
I am not. The gas tax puts the onus on the users of the roads to pay for the roads. It will encourage smaller vehicles.
Plus it should reduce carbon by a small amount.
All in favor say aye. All opposed say nay.

Great idea. You primitives really think things through don't ya?
If gas taxes go up that means that everyone will be paying higher gas prices.
If you use the argument that it will lessen consumption that is true however it will also hurt the economy even further.
When gas prices go up the trucker delivering the organic veggies to your local liberal co opt will have to pay more to deliver it.
He will pass that cost off to the co op by either raising his prices for delivery or, by charging a surcharge on each delivery.
Now if your local liberal that runs the co op wants to stay in business he will have to raise prices on those organic veggies meaning that your grocery bill will go up.
If that example doesn't resonate with you DUmmies then how about this? Joe, your pot dealer, has to fill up his 1977 Buick in order to bring your pot. He won't decide to be nice and eat the costs he will raise the price of your dime bag.
Still want a higher gas tax DUmmies?

25. Let them ride public transport
Sorry, but if they can't afford the fuel, then they should drive less, drive more fuel efficient cars, or use public transport. Evidently a higher tax should be phased in, say over a period of 5 years.
Yeah and we are mean for suggesting that the DUmmies should stop smoking pot and get jobs.

45. Yes, I am.
It's unfair to those in rural areas and it's regressive. Coal is the bigger problem anyway. We need to shut down coal plants now.
But, without coal fired plants how can you access DU?
:lmao:

Gas is almost $2.90 a gallon here thanks to the weak dollar and Obama's great economic policies... where are the cries and screams about oil company collusion now?

Typical DUmbasses. So, so, smart, yet can't see the forest for the trees.
Not that it matters to them, they like trees. :mental:

They ARE trees.

They ARE trees.
Trees are smarter.

Ahh, the 'regressive tax' argument... how unlike them :whatever:
Listen, Dumbasses - you want it, you pay for it. Period. If you want to increase gas taxes, remember that the increase will affect everyone equally, not just the people you don't like.

Our gas is over $3 a gallon in certain areas of Las Vegas. I'd like to see it go to $7/gallon. There are so many rich casino owners here. They can afford it.

Don't worry our young, inexperienced, yet hateful president is working on getting gas to $5/Gallon. The $5/Gallon gas in most of 2008 is what pushed the economy over the edge.
I have yet to figure out how the super smart intellectual liberals are going to make us energy independent when they refuse to let us use our energy here.
Fun Fact: Solar, wind, and biomass account for less than 3% of our energy requirements. They also accounted for about 3% ten years ago.

BINGO! Great post jukin. How true.
Shut down the drilling platforms out in the gulf and raise the gas tax 15 cents more a gallon. That will be great for the economy and boost economic growth. ::) :whatever: Because, that is what your lord zero is doing. How many jobs will be lost at the expense of the shut down? PLEASE lurking DUmmies, explain the logic stupidity behind that?!
