My teabagger dad's wife was laid-off last week
It was sooo hard for me not to say " So OBVIOUSlY she isn't going to sign up for any of those government hand out programs like UNEMPLOYMENT" But I didnt. I held my tongue while he told me how he was panicking about signing up for Medicaid and Medicare because her insurance was gone and she was signing up for Unemployment and they were looking in to what they qualified for as far as assistance goes.

I hate the old drunk, but I figured I would be the bigger person, kind of. All I said was, "Well you better sign up fast because your buddies take over in January and they are out to get you!"

What a ****ing moron.

Yeah, it's so freaking hilarious when someone gets laid off from their job.  I was laid off just last week.  Thankfully we had some money saved up, not a lot, but some to help us out.  But, since your dad's wife is a "teabagger", I'm sure she's out looking for a job right this minute, unlike you... who is sitting on her fat ass typing up dumb ****ing stories on DU.

Since I've been laid off last week, I already have a job interview scheduled for tomorrow.  Know why?  Because I don't think of my lay off as a two year vacation on unemployment.

These people are something else.  I'm too much of a lady to knock their front teeth out, even though I really really want to do it.

H5 on the interview EC! Knew you'd move quick. Knock 'em dead (assuming you like them--I probably don't need to say this but don't grab just anything--it's not great out there, but it's much better than late 2008 through all of 2009).

And that's ridiculous, though--we've been over this here, and it's not like we all need to be freakin' geniuses to know that WE'RE the ones who have been paying for all these unemployment extensions...right now, that money is coming out of the general treasury, not from employers. What does this idiot think "unemployment extension" means, in the context of Congressional votes?! Where the hell does brainless here think the money is coming from? US, who are working, and everyone who is newly unemployed has been footing the bill, too, and is sure as heck entitled (damn I hate that word, but I can't think of another one here) to draw from this fund for a while. Because these are OUR tax dollars now!

I guess you don't have to be a genius to understand this, but you do have to NOT be a DUmmie. Oh brave new world, that has such people in it! This one's at most a Gamma.

There are jobs out there. They may not be the best jobs but they are there. In the 3 years I've been married my wife has had a half dozen of 'em so I know they are there. The last switch was early this summer. She's not afraid to look or to work so that puts her lightyears ahead of your typical DUmmie.

You'll be fine.

Jess, I just wanted to add that I hope you get that job if you want it. And that you're right, there is a huge difference between them and you. OTOH, the OP is a hate-filled bitch and a loser for life. Good luck.

Good for you Jess. Good luck. I hope all goes well.
See, that's the difference between us here and you DUmmies over there. We "actually" look for work when we get laid off. You?! You wait for the lord nothing to pay you and redistribute some of that wealth your way.

Kudos to you! I got a little ticked off today on Facebook because someone was concerned about unemployment running out, and another person who I guess is on unemployment said they're enjoying the time off. 99 weeks of unemployment is outrageous, if you have to take a job at McDonalds and mop floors than do it, I have no patience for this entitlement mentality.

Sheesh, unemployment is paid for by your employer in case you lose your job; it's an earned entitlement (although not for 99 weeks, FFS).
I see a huge difference between folks like EC, who loses her job and goes out to find another one.  My son did the same; he was unemployed for three whole weeks before finding work again.  In the great state of Arizona, which is supposedly so economically impacted by the backlash from our racist SB1070 law.
I hope you got the job today, EC, but if not, you will find one soon because you are a winner, and not a lazy loser liberal lolling around lurking on the internet lamenting your lack of luck.
Alliteration, anyone? :-)
