Undocumented UCLA law grad is in a legal bind
Undocumented UCLA law grad is in a legal bind
-------
Today, at age 29, Luis Perez has the right to call himself a juris doctor. But he can't yet call himself an American. In fact, because he's an undocumented immigrant, it will take an act of Congress to change that. But that hasn't stopped him from trying.
"People used to tell me, 'Why go to college if you can't get a real job when you graduate,'" he said. With no right to work for a large company or law firm, it seemed that only jobs in construction and or yardwork awaited him, no matter how educated he was.
"If I had listened to those people, I wouldn't have done anything with my life," he told me.
Perez is the first undocumented immigrant to graduate from UCLA's law school. He's taking the bar exam in January. "I'm spending my Christmas with the books," he told me.

I think there is plenty of need for lawyers in Mexico.

Kind of like Boortz the day he was referring to drug dealers as undocumented pharmacists.

I sure as **** hope not! Are you kidding me? He's been here how many years? :argh:
By the way, ILlegal means, "not legal" DUmmies. Is it legal to sell drugs on the corner? Is it legal to speed on the highway? Is it legal to rob someone? Is it ILlegal to trespass, like crossing a Country's border without going through proper channels? Case closed.

You need look no further than dear auntie. How long has she lived here on the taxpayers dime illegally?

Ya know what? I feel for the guy. I really do. But.... go back to where you came from and apply to enter legally. You are a law grad. I am sure, somewhere in law school, probably in law 101, that they told you that in order to be a really good lawyer, a really, really, good lawyer, that you should FOLLOW THE LAW!!!!
Now that I really think about it... I don't give a rat's ass about him anymore. We got enough parasite lawyers here already.
Deport his ass. <smiley kicking his ass back across the border>

Yep, we don't need another lawyer. Now if he was an engineer or something useful I'd be more inclined to make an exception.

Yeah, I know. She lives about 45 minutes away from me. I used to drive by her home all the time to get to work. Little did I know she lived there at the time though.
She can thank me later for her home and welfare checks. :banghead:
