1,000 rescued rats up for adoption in California
1,000 rescued rats up for adoption in California
Associated Press November 22, 2010 --
About a thousand rats are awaiting adoption in California after being rescued from a house featured on the A&E reality TV show "Hoarders."
The Humane Society trucked the rodents over the weekend from Los Angeles to San Jose, where more than 30 volunteers and nonprofit staff helped move the rats into Andy's Pet Shop in San Jose, which agreed to temporarily house them.
Lauren Paul of the nonprofit North Star Rescue told the San Jose Mercury News that the previous owner's daughter had brought home a pregnant rat one day and the litter began multiplying quickly.
The man's neighbors called "Hoarders" producers after the rats began tearing apart the house.
Paul says she hopes rat lovers will come forward and give them a new home.

9. How heartwarming.
Homeless people in California, however, are on their own.

The rats have better hygiene than the homeless. :-)

Give me a break, bobo.
I don't have figures, and am not going to bother pulling any together, but, Cali gov't and private groups put a large amount of money toward homeless shelters, meals, reintegration, homeless education, healthcare, etc.
Good grief.
As far as the rats go, send 'em to Chicago. I hear that's all they think the coyotes eat.

I do have compassion for the homeless who want to be helped. However, if any of these people adopting the rats tried to adopt Bobbolink, they would soon get an earful about the quality of the accommodations.

Rats can learn, which is more than can be said for you.

Who adopts rats and for what purpose?
Seems odd.

Snake food. :-)

Why I prefer rats over bobo the hobo :
The rats are cleaner.
The rats are smarter.
The rats are easier to train.
The rats are actually doing something productive in society.
There are some things a rat just won't do.

Not every time but often when someone here (and else where)mentions rats or high lights RAT in democrat, I think of an old Bataan Death March survior and him telling me how a rat was divided for a meal between several men. The weakest got the most (hind leg) and the fittest got nothing.

That's a bad example to put here where the DUmmies may read it. They think that the rich, (the fittest) should have their money, (their share of the rat), divided amongst the weakest, (the poorest).

Primitives have tried to help Bobo The Hobo more than once - all assistance offers were rejected out of hand - which suggests one of three possibilities.
One - The hobo likes being a hobo, and enjoys receiving pity and the smell of stale urine.
Two - The hobo isn't a hobo, but enjoys playing one on the internet.
Three - The hobo is the greatest deep-cover mole EVER.

The rats have better hygiene than the homeless. :-)
And they have better dispositions than bobbolink.

People who own snakes.
ETA: Damn. Should have read the next post.

At least the rats serve a purpose. More than I can say for bobbo the hobo.

Not to get this discussion off track, but I found out in 1989 that my uncle survived the Bataan March. And he only spoke of it that one time.

When I was stationed on the USS Bataan we hosted a few of the survivors. The stories they had about the will to survive were incredible. I have quite a bit of respect for those gentlemen.

Well, the rats ARE a lot more personable than Bobo the Hobo, after all.

Sort of like me. My grandfathers first cousin had 5 sons in WW2. The oldest I never heard of until 14 years ago when someone did a family tree. He was alive when they surrended on Bataan and disappeared on the march without a trace. They lost another son in a B-24 bomber over Germany. He baled out but froze to death in the moutains trying to get back to England so his body was never recovered. Then a little later they had one in the Marines on Iwo Jima....went in with the first wave....he made it OK. The baby boy served 30+ years and in 3 wars....he made it OK. The forth one was in service during WW2 but I don't know what he did.
Some families around here got hit hard because a good number had joined the military in the 30's because of a lack of jobs. The DUmmies would have orgasms if that was actually true now as it was back then.
America built real men back then.

Now, when they say the rats in Commieforina, do they mean, the democrats?!? :lmao: :rotf:
