The fire department saved my son.... and me from total embarrasment

I want to thank the fine people of the Denver Fire Department for their professionalism rescuing my son, who I accidentally locked out, with keys inside, and they quickly responded and managed to unlock the door after 10 minutes. My son, of course, was not hurt, and a bit cold after being in the car for almost 25 minutes, unheated in a 25 degree weather.

Yes, it proves that we still get what we pay our taxes for. The fundies would let their house burn down before calling ANYONE, saying it's Jesus' wish or whatever.

I *NEVER* knew that the Kia Soul locks itself when I close the door, key inside.

Will be extra careful from now on....

Most cars have an alarm that goes off when the keys are in the ignition and you open the door.  I've never heard of any car that automatilly locks the doors like he says.  Our car doors lock when the car is put in gear.

1. I love a happy ending. But I think you're wrong about the Fundies

At least those that are Tea Partiers. They don't have a problem getting help from the government. They just get upset when someone else gets help from the government.

No, we don't like cash handouts to people too lazy to take care of themselves.

EMTS and fire may talk of the BIG calls, but we really get a good feeling from "stoopid calls" like this. They are good for training, nobody gets hurt, and everybody is smiles.

At least those of us who are already somewhat of vets. The 'oung ones might gripe, the old ones will go... good, nobody REALLY NEEDED our advanced skills.

No mention of the fact that the X-eyed idiot may have cost lives by detaining the fire fighters from a real emergency while he could have called a locksmith. Cheap Bastard.

How does he know that the rescuers weren't Republican?

Is it me or does this not make sense? :???: Was he in the car the whole time? Or was he locked out?

I think he was outside, the keys were inside, and the child was in a safety seat and too young to get loose and open the doors.  Sounds like a case of child endangerment to me.

A child of a DUmmie? Yes, it is child endangerment. :-) :lmao:

Knowing the DUmmies he probably locked the keys inside and was worried that it was going to rain and he needed to put the top back up so water wouldn't get in.  :-)

The Kia Soul is such a chick car. Figures a DUmmie "man" would have one.

25 minutes in 25 degrees? and he went and sat in the car? What kind of ***** son is that? I do more time than that in colder weather every day feeding my critters in my pajamas! Right now its 20 and I'm going to sit in the woods for 5 hrs!

So, let me get this straight:

DUmmie gets out of car, son is still inside, doors lock automatically.  (I'm not buying that part, unless the car was still running and in gear.)

DUmmie doesn't have a spare set of keys in the house, or a house key hidden in an undisclosed location, for just such emergencies.  (Or, if the DUmmie had any brains, he would have a keyless lock on the front door of his house, like I do.)

DUmmie DID have cell phone, which he used to probably call 911, (the only number he could remember, because it's short) since the FD showed up, although the PD can jimmy a car lock (At least, they can/do HERE)

DUmmie should be charged by the FD TWICE the going rate what a locksmith would charge, just for tying up the services of the FD, but since it was a DUmmie that called, make it 4 times the going rate.  (Stupidity should hurt, if not physically, then financially).

Conservatives plan and have ways to get around such everyday mishaps, DUmmies call "daddy government" first, last, and always for every little bump they hit in life's road.

Losers, every f'n one of them!

If I thought my child was in any sort of danger, a car door glass wouldn't stand between him and me.

Came upon a situation like this in a parking lot the other summer. New car glass is hard to break even with a hammer. So I got a hammer and center punch out of my truck and was ready to break the glass if the baby ever gave the slightest hint of being in danger of a heat related problem. Johnny's Key & Lock Service was in the mall and he had the door open in a few minutes.

Shit happens.

Sure.

Keypad, enter your own 4-digit code.  The lock can store 10 different codes, so everyone in the family has their own.

I got mine at Lowes for about $80.

 :bs:

That's not been my experience, either in the Guard or when I was doing ride alongs in EMT school. If it involves a kid, of course you feel glad that the kid is ok, but the idiot adults just get torn up one wall and down the other once they're out of sight. There was no sympathy or good feelings for anyone that did anything stupid, much less when it involved a child.

It's deep in the nature of the primitives.

Primitives are grossly materialistic; they value things more than they value people.

If it's a choice between damaging or breaking some material "investment" and harm coming to a human being, primitives don't want anything bad to happen to their stuff.

This may seem an unfair or too-harsh critique, but I've seen it.  Too many times to count.

The cross-eyed Iowa primitive was of course concerned for his son.....but at the same time, he was equally concerned about ruining his stuff.

Very true Frank.
I wonder how they'll feel when the imposter starts redistributing their wealth around? :naughty: :-)

Dear DUmb****--you could have had the door open in less time than it takes the FD to respond.  Ever used a coat hanger to open a door?  I have.

Also, consider WISE use of tax dollars.  You just wasted several hundred (if not a couple thousand) of your fellow citizens tax dollars to call the FIRE DEPARTMENT for a purpose for which they are not equipped nor should they be expected to respond.

Instead, what a RESPONSIBLE conservative would have done is to 1--call a locksmith.  Yes, it costs money, but a lot less than you just cost the citizens of Denver.  2--get the On-Star or equivalent for your POS gheymobiles.  Costs about $20 a month, or in DUmmiespeak, about a bongload and a half.  3--failing that your POS gheymobile has an On-Star/similar option, get a AAA membership for $49 per year.  It comes with lockout service, you worthless cheap ****stain.

Drop by and I'll give you a few other suggestions, starting with your removal from the gene pool.

Seriously people?  He accidentally locked his child in the car.  Don't know if you've taken a look outside lately, but it's the end of November.  It's freakin cold outside.

Not everyone has ever jimmied a car door before.  I'd bet most people don't even know where to start.

I've called a locksmith for a locked car before.  Took them an hour and a half for them to show.  The child (maybe an infant, he doesn't specify) could have been at serious risk for that.

This was an emergency, and I feel he made the right call.

And shame on you people for attacking a man about posting a feel good story about his son coming out of a potentially dangerous situation alright.

First off, few if any newer vehicles (unless they're cheap pieces of shit) fail to warn you that you're about to do something ****ing stupid.

Second, even to call a locksmith or AAA would have been a better option--tell them that you've got a child locked in the car and see if it takes an hour and a half.

FAIL, dj.

As Sigmund Freud would say, "subconscious resentment."

It's well-known that the cross-eyed Iowa primitive resents that there's no raise in social security benefits this year--the tub of lard's on "disability" because he's hard of hearing, despite that he self-admittedly makes chunks of money on the side, doing computer repair work.

He resents he can't rip off the taxpayers even more.

And so he subconsciously finds another way to screw the taxpayers.

Primitives do that all the time.

You mean like the same people who would rather spend their incomes on Cheetos, X-Boxes, and cable, but not on health insurance, and when they get a sniffle, call the ambulance to take them to the ER?  Yeah, I see ya workin, coach.

Dear DUmb****--you could have had the door open in less time than it takes the FD to respond.  Ever used a coat hanger to open a door?  I have.

Sparky, once upon a time, I defeated the "idiot-proof" car door locks that VW had at the time.  You couldn't lock the driver's door unless the door was shut.  I went in through the passenger's side, threw my keys onto the seat, tossed in my web gear, locked the door, and slammed it shut--just in time to remember that the keys were inside.  It took the two best thieves that the Headquarters Troop had two hours to unlock the door with a coat hanger.  The MPs wouldn't use their lockout tools on my car, even though the SGT on duty would have done it.  The coat hanger ruined the gasket set for the drivers' door.  I Thank God I didn't have a child in that car.  'Course, the window would have been broken post-haste.

At any rate, if this had happened to me, I would have been filled with such embarrassment and horror at my own child-neglect I would never run to the internet and breathlessly post the story for all to see.  This guy.  He's such an asshat, can't stand him.

I could be in his Kia in less than a minute!

This is the reason I NEVER lock my doors in my Kia or Jeep.

I would rather have a thief just unzip a side window then slash the top or jimmy the door, break a window in the Kia.

We had an interesting time years ago no kids involved but 2 little dogs.

We had this big ass Lincoln that was all electric, bought it used naturally.   We were not use to any kind of auto or truck  that did not have roll up windows and just the basics.

We took a ride and brought the pups along, got out letting them run, Hubby later  put the pooch's in the back seat opened the drivers door and put the keys in the ignition.  I threw my purse in the front seat and along comes a friend, we both closed  our doors and talked for a few minutes then went back to the car to find the pups jumping about had hit the lock buttons that were near the door handles.

We had no cell phones so Hubby had to go find A public phone [not easy even back then] to call my mom to bring me back to the house for the extra keys. .

When Mom and I got to my house I had no keys to get in so I had to clamber in a window only to get half way in when our Rottie came dashing into the room and thinking this was a new game would not let me climb in.  Here I am hanging half in half out of the window wondering if the neighbors were going to call the police for a possible house breaking.

Poor Mom is behind me pushing my butt threw the window worrying that that big B*****d was going to bite my head off.----Shock, my mom had used a cuss word.----

Finally, covered with dog drool and kisses got the keys and we drove back to open the doors of the car.

Meanwhile Hubby was attempting to keep do gooders from busting out the windows of the car to get the dog out.   It was about 60 degrees out, dogs in no trouble but Hubby was sweating up a storm. People were gathering all too anxious to do some glass breaking.

We, Mom and I got back before there was a riot and or police involved and -----we were subjected to a few people that felt it their duty to give us a piece of their mind about our treatment of innocent Animals.

2 weeks later after having the car serviced a mechanic handed over the spare keys he found hanging from something under the car.

First time I ever had a car with power windows me and my buddy was taking it for a ride when we seen his daughter. I think she was someplace she was not supposed to be so we stopped and he put down his window to give her some shit. The funny part was he had a new puppy on his lap and while he was giving his daughter the 3rd the dog stepped on the switch and rolled his head up in the window! His daughter rolled with laughter. That was some 30 years ago and whenever I see his daughter we still laugh!

Doesn't Bobo live in a car parked in an alley somewhere in Denver? He could have called her on her iPhone.

Anyway. Knowing this DUmbass, he probably owns a convertible and the top was down with the doors locked.
