The Brad Childress Era in Minnesota is over.
The team relieved the head coach of his duties Monday morning.
Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier will take over as the interim head coach.
Childress, 54, compiled a 39-35 record in five seasons in Minnesota, including 3-7 this season.
The team had visions of a Super Bowl berth after quarterback Brett Favre put together perhaps his finest season in 2009 and the Vikings went 12-4.

Wow...talk about being hung out to dry.

I heard this about 30 min. ago on ESPN. Saw it coming 2 weeks ago.

Why don't they just bench Favrerererer also? Seriously, why not just start Tarvaris and use the rest of this season to determine if their first issue in next year's draft is a QB?

That is the thing and Keyshawn (sp) was saying that a week ago on a pregame show.
Tom Jackson said that as long as he is on the team he will start, end of discussion.
I don`t know the situation but if Childress wasn`t GM then firing him over the Favre situation sounds like a management asking for years of decline.

Get ready for a solid week of "What will Farve do next?" from ESPN.

Oh, oh! I know! Retire at the end of the season, then two weeks before the season starts he'll decide he wants to play again and get picked up by a down and out team... Say the Lions.

He ditched Randy Moss without consulting the owner. That pissed the ego maniac off.
