Title: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want
Post by: ColonialMarine0431 on November 20, 2010, 06:32:55 PM
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.

Yes. I'm a fanatical Christian. I believe in defending God and America with a sword and taking no prisoners.

Yes He is.

I'm just a nobody, but let me tell you, if it ever came to a point where I had to live or die for my faith? I will do it. I will.

Nice post ColonialMarine. Thank you for your service in protecting both.
I sleep peacefully at night knowing you are out there with that sword.

Some people call me a dork because I love America so much. But where else can a punk grow up and be a SSgt. in the Marines. Yeah. I was a jerk. I was all full of myself. Big macho Marine. Boy did I have a wake-up call coming. Then 9-11 happened and I grew up in an instant. In one day I lost my favorite Aunt and had a bitch-slapping to wake me up and realise what it's all about: service to others and protecting those who need protecting.

CM, I H5ed you again.  You're good. :cheersmate:

One of my favorite psalms to sing is a Marty Haugen piece based on Psalm 23.  It's called "Shepherd me, O God."

This version isn't as "tight" as I, or any other cantor at my church, sings it.
