Hey guys.
For a long time, I've been interested in people and political values. Mostly I've read a lot of books and psychological studies on conservatives and liberals, but I'm struck by how conservatives always seem to get a bad rap. I have a lot of conservative friends and relatives, and I just don't think the results are telling the whole story - psychology as a science is pretty well dominated by liberals, and I'm skeptical of their findings (which mostly came from college students rather than the more general population). So you know what they say: If you want something right, you have to do it yourself.
The upshot of all this is that I went out and built my own survey of political values, taking questions from some of the studies other researchers and adding new ones here and there, and I was hoping to get a few responses from people in this forum. Is it OK if I post a link to the survey in this thread?
Thanks,
Mark

I'm not a moderator, but posting it under blogs (http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/board,43.0.html) might be better.

I agree that it is better suited for blogs and moving it there.
It doesn`t seem to be anything but a new person being unfamilar with the boards so let be polite until an obvious reason arises.
Would suggest Psych you post an intro thread here...
http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/board,8.0.html
You can perhaps explain better what you seek as well as get a feel for the place.

Conservatives are happy.
Liberals are sour pus's.
You can complete your course paper by filling in with the usual psycho babble BS.

Conservatives have a 'can do' attitude and believe that every person is a sovereign and should pursue life, liberty and happiness, and not be punished for their success or have their fates decided by others.
Leftists (I hate to call them liberal because true liberalism is the opposite of the statists that the leftists really are) are envious by nature, and lack initiative. As a result, they believe that everyone should serve everyone else. This results in a concept called 'positive rights,' which obligate people to perform a service to others (in a saner world we would call this slavery!).

^exactly!
This is why they HATE Sarah Palin. She's happy, positive, upbeat and self-reliant.

I'm not doing this for coursework. I'm not in school right now, and I don't know how much I trust the rather liberal professors and researchers who tend to fill out the field of psychology. (The one and only conservative researcher in psychology I'm aware of is John Jay Ray (http://jonjayray.tripod.com/homepage.html).) What I do have is a genuine interest in political attitudes which I'd like to investigate myself, as carefully and rigorously as I can.
Now, is it all right if I post my survey, or, should I look elsewhere for conservatives interested in participating?

I've got a few minutes to waste this weekend. Might as well post a link... people will look at it or not.

Que?
This is my basic home page but it does also point to my various academic writings on the topics of psychological authoritarianism, racism, conservatism, dogmatism, the Adorno theory, achievement motivation, A-B personality etc. For particulars, click the third site below. My monograph on the causes of Leftism is available via the fourth site listed below. But best of all is my daily "blog". Be sure to visit me there soon by clicking on the first link below. After the links below, I move on to a short essay that I hope to be thought-provoking.
Oh, this looks like fun. :p

What? Either you're making that quote up to make fun of me, or are you're confusing me with someone else.

*Facepalm* No, that's John Jay Ray's page.
Look, just never mind. I apologize for bothering you all, and don't plan on posting here again.
