On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously approved a bill that would give the Attorney General the right to shut down websites with a court order if copyright infringement is deemed “central to the activity†of the site — regardless if the website has actually committed a crime.[/u]

Meanwhile, the Bush tax cuts take a back seat. The democraps don't want to pass it because the repubs want extensions for all, and I agree. Where's the imposter as well? Is he still in the U.S.? Or is he speaking with Medvedev about the START treaty.

I wonder if this would apply to sites in other countries. Piratebay is based in Sweden (?) , and is a big torrent site. Will they shut Google (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=monty+python+torrents) down?
-
That's going to be hard to enforce.
-
No way they would abuse this. Not one time right? ****ing DUmmies wet dream come true if they were to use this to shut a site down just because a link to some news service went out and got posted in a few sites like CU or CC.

Senator: Web Censorship Bill A ‘Bunker-Busting Cluster Bomb’

The Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (COICA, S.3804) sets up a system through which the US government can blacklist a pirate website from the Domain Name System, ban credit card companies from processing US payments to the site, and forbid online ad networks from working with the site.

Well Barry did say there is way too much information available. So no surprise they want the power to shut down some of that information.
I bet you Holder can't wait to shut down Free Republic.
We may be small enough not to be noticed by the empire but, you never now.
