I actually didn't want to bring this over for obvious reasons, but what struck me was her husband died and the first thing Kineneb thinks to do is log onto to DU? That being said God Bless you and your departed husband Kineneb.

need DU love- Hubby died last night
quietly and peacefully in his bed at home. He had been on dialysis for several years and died from heart failure.

My father had a triple bypass in January. He had to go on dialysis for the rest of his life after the operation due to diabetes and IgA. My sympathies. (No he wasn't an alcoholic. It was the IgA.)

Now let's see how long it takes for one of those loving DUers to blame on it Bush. Cheap shot, just letting you know it's going to happen.

ugh..I'm sorry for her loss..how terrible.

My brother is on dialysis for several years now...this type of thing makes me worry for him, but my brother takes excellent care of himself to the point that as a type 1 diabetic he needs very little insulin now due to a very tight and healthy diet and exercise. What a shame though. I'll give her a pass, she's probably in a haze over it. People don't always act 'right' when shit like this happens.

Actually, it's not that terribly unusual.  I've known of a couple of Freepers who have taken ill and when they passed away a close relative broke the news soon afterwards.

And I don't care one's political persuasion, watching someone go like that is NEVER easy.

Well, yes, of course our heartfelt sympathies.

But really, Skins's island isn't the best place to post such announcements.

It reeks of bad taste.

I was in the most-excellent DUmmie FUnnies the night a primitive keeled over in front of his computer, and his mother, upon discovering him, immediately began posting (he had been logged onto Skins's island), reaching over his body to type.

Really.

It's very bad taste.

Well, that's just plain weird, Frank. I'm going to assume with this lady that her husband has already been taken away by the coroner and she is sitting there empty after wondering what next. I'd like to believe that anyway.

WTF?  :o

That's a mental illness. The last thing I'd be thinking about if one of my family members had just died would be the friggin' innernets.

I too am assuming she's lonely and bewildered and scared and confused, and looking for something.

But Skins's island isn't any place where she's going to find what she needs.

Again and as usual, my own deepest sympathy, but man, this is over the line.

Sadly, she will probably come to figure this out. Best regards, dear lady. Now get yourself in the midst of real people who care about you.

Khepra or Kephra, or something like that.

If I recall correctly, he was grossly overweight, and due to his sitting at the computer all day, some sort of blood-clot in his leg made it up to his lungs; he was in his mid-30s.  At least that's what I recall the primitives saying about the person and the matter.

Death is no drama-queen matter.

So far no BDS.

Makes the island denizens seem almost  human.

And of course my prayers are for the family and their comfort.

I never heard about the one who died at the computer. Oh my.

I'm with frank. This is kind of creepy to me. But I too shall hope that it's just a scared person looking for comfort anywhere they can. I also hope they have real life friends and family because there is no substitute in times like this.

There was another one, too, named Mari333 (who we renamed Mari666).  Her husband died in a car wreck and she was posting about it right after the police called her about what had happened.  Bad taste doesn't begin to describe it.

First, let me say that my prayers go out to the family and friends of Mr. Kelleher.

When my mother died, I posted online to inform those who I consider friends. The difference is, I waited until later in the day, after our family had our time together. Posting moments after the death of a loved one is just sick.

There is an exception. Let's say I recieved a phone call informing me of the death of a loved one, as I am posting online. My very next post would be something along the lines of, "I just got a phone call that a loved one has passed away. I gotta go!" More than likely, I'd post later in the day just to update those who may be worried.

The way I see this, Kineneb did wait until the next day to announce it. I don't see a problem in this case. Granted, she did post it at Skin's Island, but maybe she considers the primitives her friends. Afterall, kineneb is a primitive herself. Just because I wouldn't have any of those losers as a friend doesn't mean nobody can.

Ahh Frank, at times like this we go to those for whom we feel closeness, it's quite possible that the DUers are indeed her closest 'Friends' and there aren't any real friends or family to fill the void.  We need to be as charitable and uncritical as possible on this kind of stuff.

Given that she said he died at night in his sleep, and that the post was made the next day at Noon, that is most likely what happened.
