Next year the health care law also eliminates preventive service copays, such as for well-child visits, mammograms and vaccinations, possibly altering how much people put into an FSA in the first place.

It eliminates Flex Med dollars being used for PREVENTIVE service co-pays?? How :censored: STUPID is that???? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
What would be the logic behind making preventive service more expensive? (Never mind, I know, it's a Dim bill...) **sigh**

The way I read it, it seems to mean that insurance companies must cover the whole cost of the "wellness" visits.

Preventive care has to be covered at 100%. Which means people won't contribute as much to their FSA to cover those expenses. Combine that with OTC drugs not being covered by your FSA in 2011. AND, in a future year, I can't remember if it is 2013, or 2014, the cap for FSA will be decreased to 2500. I believe the ultimate goal would be to eliminate the FSA entirely, as the government isn't making any money on it, what, with it being deducted pre-tax.

that's the whole point. obamacare's hidden intention is to ruin every health care plan that it doesn't out-and-out prohibit, drive insurance companies out of business, and turn the health care of every man, woman, and child in the country over to the central government.
presto. a "single payer system" via the back door, and when it happens, it will look like the feds were simply solving the crisis of insurance companies mysteriously going out of business at the same time.

Yes, and by affecting our ability to decrease our pre-tax spending, whether it be any Section 125 component, or our 401k, the govt makes more money. Originally, starting this year, we were supposed to report the cost of medical benefits on our employee's W-2's, but that has been squashed for now. The IRS has kindly offered us more time to work on how that will work, exactly. That's just swell. :whatever:

HELLCARE, what a wonderful bill. So wonderful, the imposter, Nazi Pelosi and Scary Reid had to hide it from the public. Funny how things were "supposed" to be transparent, huh?!? :censored:
-
Yeah, you all are right. I didn't read it that way. :-)
-
Don't forget not only will our premiums go down by 3000% but, we will get raises on top of it.
:lmao:
-
Yeah, you all are right. I didn't read it that way. :-)
Don't worry about it. The ObamaCare was written to confuse and obfuscate the facts, so it's easy to misread what reporters write about it.
-

Meh. I am just preparing my stump speech. :-) I have to roll out our benefit plan based on all of this shite next week. The majority of our employees make 11-12 an hour, and most are single moms. It isn't gonna be pretty. And, I would hazard a guess that most of em voted for Obama. :thatsright:

I have money left in my FSA account. Time for me to head on over to drugstores.com 's FSA section. Free shipping over 25.00 I think. Since no OTCs will be covered without a Dr's prescription in 2011, I'm stocking up while i still have time.

Good plan. I intend to do the same, provided I don't end up just handing it over to my dentist. He's got greedy hands.

Same here. That, and I need to get new glasses and contacts.

I was going to do that, thought about whether to grab meds or get my eyes checked...and then my kid got bucked off her horse. She wasn't hurt bad, but we did get x-rays of her wrist to make sure it wasn't broken. There goes all my flex...plus. :bawl:

Bum-mer. The good thing is she is ok. But man, that crap adds up really quick.
