Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the self-proclaimed mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, will probably remain in military detention without trial for the foreseeable future, according to Obama administration officials.

The administration has concluded that it cannot put Mohammed on trial in federal court because of the opposition of lawmakers in Congress and in New York. There is also little internal support for resurrecting a military prosecution at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The latter option would alienate liberal supporters.

The administration asserts that it can hold Mohammed and other al-Qaeda operatives under the laws of war, a principle that has been upheld by the courts when Guantanamo Bay detainees have challenged their detention

The red diaper doper babies are caught between a rock and a hard place with this one. They don't want to go to military trial because of the pussies weaklings on the left.

But then they hold him w/o trial....... Yes I know he has confessed and all, he should be at room temp by now.

with all of the water that holder has been carrying by turning the DoJ into an arm of the obama reelection campaign, you would think that they would be more careful about pulling the carpet out from under him.

I expect the obamites to be much more moderate for the next couple of years;  the job in jeopardy in the next election belongs to teh messiah, not the botox bimbo or that walking cadaver.  it's totally different this time.

The Post report came after Attorney General Eric Holder told reporters on Nov. 10 the Obama administration was close to selecting a trial location. Holder said the administration didn’t make a decision on whether the accused should be tried in a civilian court or before a military commission.

only a moron or a liberal (what's the difference, really?) could turn a guilty verdict based on a confession into a judicial, moral, and political disaster.
