Kernell sentenced to 1 year, 1 day in Palin e-mail case

A federal judge sentenced a former University of Tennessee student convicted of hacking Sarah Palin's e-mail to one year and one day in federal custody.
David Kernell was arrested in 2008 for hacking the former Alaska governor's e-mail.
He recommended that Kernell serve his time at the Midway Rehabilitative Center on Magnolia Avenue in Knoxville, but that will be determined by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
The judge also sentenced Kernell to three years probation.
Kernell will turn himself in at a later date.
Defense attorney Wade Davies had filed motions seeking probation at the sentencing, contending Kernell used publicly available information to guess his way into the e-mail in a prank. Prosecutors said the hacking was motivated by Palin's status as a governor and candidate for vice president.

This is from Midway's web site...I was wondering why he would be sentenced there.
In 1974, a group of concerned adults and professionals felt a need for an agency dedicated to substance abusers who were motivated to recover and function productively. The group founded a public, non-profit corporation, Alcoholism Services of Knoxville, Inc., to operate Midway Rehabilitation Center.
A high quality, comprehensive in-patient program was designed to assist individuals who made a commitment to remain sober, to develop an improved lifestyle, and to become a contributing member of the community.
In 1981, Midway was granted a federal contract to serve individuals transitioning back into the mainstream of society after experiencing legal consequences.
With the completion of a new office building in 1988, Midway began outpatient services to apply the same high quality programs for individuals in the community.
Midway began business drug testing and education in 2000. This recent service has been very successful for Midway corporate clients as a Human Resource tool in hiring and training.
In 2005, Midway consolidated its residential and treatment services in a renovated office building at 1515 Magnolia Avenue. The new building gives Midway one of the top substance abuse rehabilitation facilities in the region.
The longevity of Midway speaks to the quality of the programs, its professional staff and the management of the organization.
Accreditation
Midway Rehabilitation Center is licensed by the Tennessee Department of Health as a substance abuse treatment center for residential and outpatient treatment. Midway is accredited by the American Correctional Association.

Don't know much about Midway itself, but I am very familiar with it's location. Not a good area for a pretty white boy to be walking around. It's one of those areas where I don't go take pictures for my reports...M always does them for me...right after daylight. :o

I don't know either. I assumed it was in lieu of sending him to minimum-security lockup.
Did you catch the line in the OP about him being able "to continue treatment for his depression"? Yet another liberal with mental problems.
