A Progressive classic movie must see on TCM tonight: Metropolis

P.S. I'm calling this movie Progressive for thematic noblese oblige displayed in the protagonist, Freder Frederson's, character.

I watched the original version about a year ago. I kind of thought that it started out as a "progressive's" wet dream. Life is controlled completely and utterly by the government. The tipping point comes when a group of people start thinking for themselves.

3. I am so excited about this.. I have never seen the movie..just outtakes
and bits and pieces.. like the giant clock.. or the men in black in that depressing same step walk as some go one way and some another.. and the idea this is the entire movie as it was originally intended just makes it that much better

We just saw the Jets pull it out in Detroit. Now, it's between the Giants in Seattle on Fox, and the NSC race in Texas. That is fun.

It's a bit in the eye of the beholder. Libertarian Conservatives can enjoy it for the free man standing up to the might of the totalitarain state.

Detroit killed themselves with that late hit for the 15 yard penalty. :hammer:

Yup. The G-Men are blowing the Hawks out, though, and Jeff Burton just wrecked Jeff Gordon under the yellow, so I think the Texas race will be on the tube now . . .

Hubby hangs out with the guys on Sun. to watch football, he's a huge Jets fan, he's happy!

Now that is funny. Metropolis, like 1984, Animal Farm, Brave new world were all against progressiveness or as it was known better back then communism.
Moley, moley.
