Just two days after Oklahoma voters approved a ballot measure banning state courts from considering Islamic or international law when ruling on cases, a local Muslim has filed a federal lawsuit saying the measure is unconstitutional.
The lawsuit against ballot measure, State Question 755 – or better known as "Save Our State" -- seeks a temporary restraining order to block the results of the election from being certified by the state Election Board on Nov. 9. The measure is scheduled to go into effect on Jan. 1.

Shocker.
Figures they would try this nonsense eventually.
Sorry, but NO other type of court should be placed above our own judicial system. Every other religion gets that.

But, sharia law does not allow for borrowing money with interest. Obama's sure breaking that tenet of sharia law.

Correct, although the LDS Church definitely had its thoughts about creating its own government/theocracy (some would argue, myself included, that the theocracy is very much in play in today's Utah) in the mid-19th century. It took a small-scale series of battles to convince Brigham Young to vacate his seat as governor of the Utah Terroritory in exchange for Pres. Buchanan's pardoning the citizens of Utah Terroritory for sedition and treason against the U.S.
The point is, this is not the first time this kind of thing has happened. If necessary, sharia "law" should be met with force to dispel it.
Why and how the Brits haven't quite figured this out baffles me to no end.

I would agree that if from no position other than the majority of legislative control in Utah, you are correct, although benign, it certainly exists.......and in macro, we have the same situation here in the city of Independence, MO.......the LDS has held a majority influence in local politics for nearly a century. I happen to agree with the vast bulk of their positions, but that's just me.......

If they do not intend to apply sharia then they do not need to ask for this law to be struck down.
If they do intend to apply sharia law then the people whose lives will be effected have every right to give or withhold their consent.
Obviously OK decided to withhold that consent.
