Damn, how bad does their propaganda department have to **** up to get the DUmmies to call for boycotts. Cause PMSNBC sure did step on their dick in this case.

1. So Hannity can give political contributions, though Olbermann cannot?

55. Olbermann criticized FOX news division strongly for doing it.
The problem here is that, for some unfathomable reason, NBC has Olbermann classified as a news anchor when he is clearly a commentator.
And let the spin commence!

Isn't Olbermann like their biggest draw? I only watch Maddow and Olbermann if I'm watching MSNBC..
Yup, which is pretty pathetic ratings wise.

Nothing on the Maddow blog. We may still have Rachel. Time for KO and David Shuster to have their own show somewhere else. He donated to worthy causes, at least! KO still speaks for me! Who needs GEM$NBC anywhoo.
Wonder where exactly that would be. al-Gore's channel?

35. ahhh IDK about that.
He gets a lot of ratings and I bet they wouldn't have 'suspended' him if they wanted him gone. they would have outright fired him.
Proof of the exceedingly low level of expectations the average DUmbass has.

57. But Corporations are
'real' people and have all the free speech....there is none left for the 'little' people. And if a 'little' person tries to use that free speech for a progressive, well....they're be hell to pay.
Un ****ing believable.
So MSNBC could give permission to someone who wanted to donate to a repugnant, but refuse someone who wanted to donate to a dem.
because we all know that Progressives give so much!

Now appearing at Daily Kos:

blah-blah-blah confirmation links and this:
I wonder if Mr Phill Griffin checked if his beloved Joe Scarborough donated money to GOP candidates.
almost 600 comments, I bet they're DUzies.....after a quick scan, MSNBC has Joe Scarborough's back:
Here's the statement from MSNBC about Joe (4+ / 0-)
Recommended by:Helena Handbag, ScantronPresident, Diogenes2008, Jane Lew
Joe Scarborough, host of the "Morning Joe" talk show and the evening newscast "Scarborough Country," $4,200 in March 2006 to Derrick Kitts, Republican candidate for the House from Oregon. ... A spokesperson for NBC, Jeremy Gaines, replied to questions sent to Scarborough. "Yes, he did make a donation to Derrick Kitts. Kitts is an old friend of Joe's. Joe hosts an opinion program and is not a news reporter."
In other words, what he did is okay because he's only the host of an "opinion program." Oh, and he only donates to "old friends." Uh huh. Would you classify KO as a news anchor? I always assumed that he also hosted an "opinion program." Guess not, according to MSNBC.

Olberman will be back at pMSNBC in 24 business hours.

For the Lurkers:
NBC's ethics policy generally bars political activity, including contributions, without the approval of the president of NBC News, Steve Capus, according to a 2007 story on MSNBC.com.
"Anyone working for NBC News who takes part in civic or other outside activities may find that these activities jeopardize his or her standing as an impartial journalist because they may create the appearance of a conflict of interest," it says. "Such activities may include participation in or contributions to political campaigns or groups that espouse controversial positions. You should report any such potential conflicts in advance to, and obtain prior approval of, the President of NBC News or his designee."

He had them on then donated the max to their campaigns after he interviewed them.
All the while he was trashing donations made (legally) by Rupert Murdoch.

23. "hired help"?
Are you saying Keith and Rachel just take their marching orders and recite whatever script is handed to them?
That seems kinda harsh.
All this time I thought we watched because they were independent thinkers. Now it sems they are little more than corporate drones.
This is worse than the end of that movie Network with the guy ranting all the time.

36. My issue with MSNBC is about the sneaky way they do what they do. Updated at 4:38 PM
They don't spike. They subtly twist or ignore. They use obvious right wing phrasing. They accept basic right wing framing as the premise from which they start to talk about things. Ignoring the worst stories allows the right wing meme to stand, even as it comes from other outlets.
The problem with all this is that they;'re regarded as the "liberal" voice. People who are generally liberal, but uninvolved as we are, hear it. They hear, by omission or repetition, certain right wing frames or phrases and accept that they must be true if MSNBC is also using them. The net result is a subtle but critical support of the Fox News perspective.
If they did straight news with no commentary, that would be good. But to wear a liberal mantle and still continue to support right wing ..... let's call it what it is ..... propaganda harms us immeasurably. At least with Fox, there's no pretense.

The network that spins Michelle Bachmann's words to portray her in a negative light is rightwing alright! :sarcasm:

31. This is just the beginning.
They let the liberals play around for a couple years but time to get back to the real business of hoarding stolen taxpayer wealth in unprecedented amounts.
Corporations should never be trusted, ever. I don't expect the ever growing population of office toadies and ass kissers in this country to get it. Several decades of increasingly abusive corporate control and now most can't begin to question their masters. The human doormats we end up electing to "represent" us reflect that pathetic reality.

Then move to Venezeula. Hugo Chavez hates the corporations so much that he has stolen their property. Do not worry, he will care about you so much that your food, medicine, fuel, electricity and healthcare will be rationed.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
This is way too funny. The poor goons have been trying for years to throw Rush, Hannity, and Beck off the air. Now one of their guys gets thrown off after they lose congress.
This has been a great week.
First we win back congress in a landslide.
Second Alan Grayson gets thrown out on his ass.
Thirdly Ogreman gets thrown out on his ass too.
The only thing missing was Reid having to job hunt but, I shall be happy that we won big.
We may not have won the Senate but, we tightened up the gap a bit more.

You whack-jobs need to decide whether he was offering his opinion or he was a reporter telling the undisputed truth, because in the real world you can't have it both ways.
Oh, and the sparkling husband primitive, who it seems is of the impression that PMSNBC is a subtle RW mouthpiece, is completely nutso.
