WE would like to know times, date and particular problems experienced. Also, keep in mind to check any other websites or forums as to rule out you web service before posting. Thanks!!

I just timed out trying to start a new thread at 4:09pm (5:09pm Eastern). Clicked 'Post' and the progress bar at the bottom of my browser stopped halfway through.
I ended up closing the window.

17:10 -17:12 CDT took a while for the page to load. (Is this related to the cron jobs??)
-
18:07 some latency when transitioning pages on the forum.
-
7:10 p.m. eastern.....
Slow page loads 20-30 seconds.
-
right now and this started around the time you put the smileys back up... 15:45 or so...

That has to be your PC. I monitored the smileys for an hour or so and didn't see any difference.
I have noted that right now, the forum is having some slow page loads for me from 17:33 through 17:40. It's about every other page load.

8:14 Central. No problems. Sporadic during the day, but it got better the later in the day. Is our server located in Burma? I heard they had a major server issue today, what with the elections coming up...
I will let you know if anything else comes up.

I am not lying. :lmao:
During a news break, listening to Levin, I heard that Burma was having a server issue. Seems they got hacked right before the elections. It was a "Server not Found" error. I had a "Server not Found" error a time or two, in the last few days. I immediately thought of our cave here. I wish I could find a decent link to the story.

9:26pm Eastern. I was on the front page and couldn't get into the forum (no response).
-
The forum seems to be a bit "laggy" right now. Any page change is taking over 5 secs.
-
Yes, I encountered the same, about 5-8 seconds between changing or after posting.
-
I've had slow downs happen when hitting the "reply" button, more often then anything else today.
-
I tried coming on at 5:20 a.m. (central time).
Finally got on at 5:28 a.m. (central time).
Now that I'm here, speed seems okay.....for now.
-
It didn't take 8 mins for me this morning, but a couple of minutes around 06:30. Now that I'm on the Cave, it seems to be loading OK.

Same here. I just tried to post a response in another thread and nothing happened. :(
-
Between 14:13 CDT & 14:17 CDT, page transitions were pretty slow......... 8 secs or so to make the transition. Replies have been slow all day, for the most part. (smileys ??)
-
Started a little while ago for me also..
-
Sunday morning, 4:43 a.m. central time, 3:43 a.m. mountain time.
I came on okay and all that, and responded to a comment by TVDOC in the computer forum.
I hit "post."
By 3:52 a.m., the little green boxes showing the progress of posting (lower right-hand side) had been stuck about 75% of the way to completion since I had hit "post."
I gave up, and "x"ed out.
-
I was able to get in just past 5:30 am eastern but by 5:45 it was down.
-
November 07, 2010, 06:15:31 am
time to access thread was about 5 min.
to access post feature once to thread maybe 20 sec
-
8:30 am , 8-10 second delay to access threads.

regarding the problems this morning:
the nightly backups run automatically at 3:00 AM and 3:30AM eastern. although they don't run very long, that would restrict database access to just the dump processes. that can't be avoided.
then some daily maintenance runs every morning at 6:30AM. weekly maintenance runs sunday mornings at about 6:45. I don't know why those jobs are scheduled that late (although it was probably me that did it :p), but it has probably been like that forever.
most of it really shouldn't cause a problem, but I will fit it all into an earlier window . . . probably 3-5AM.

11:33am (Eastern) today... I'm getting slow/incomplete page loads. The site wouldn't load for me the first time I opened it.

That's about the same time I was having problems. Are avatars disabled?
-
I think they were disabled for the forum default theme. I'm using a different one and still have them.
-
Noticed a brief period of extended page-load times at 10:47 CST today. Lasted for about two minutes, and appears to be better now.

Right around 12:00, CST, the entire forum slowed to a crawl. I was tempted to reboot the server, but, all of a sudden, it straightened out.

Yep.....Same here, at the same time......

an interesting side note: I could reach the server just fine.....
-
It went in the bucket again between 12:48 and 12:50 PM CST, popped back, and is slow intermittently since.

Wow, this is awful. I could hardly get on here this morning (9am Eastern). Like trying to get blood from a stone.
-
Man o Pete. Hello? I finally got here, but I will probably time out, posting this message. Been trying to get in to the site since 8:00 Central. Keeps timing out.
-
Same here. I'm finally online and things seem to be running okay, but I'm afraid to close my connection.
-
Ditto to the three comments above.
-
was slow when I first logged on this morning at approx 6:55AM PST. Speed seems to have picked up aft erh the initial delays of about a minute for a page to load.
-
Hell, my innerwebz was funky this morning, so I couldn't get on except through AOL. :???: My Magic Jack phone still worked, but FF or IE wouldn't connect to ANYTHING.... :???: Looks like the Cable Company got it fixed, though.
-
10:55 Central, it was timing out. Error message about connection problem with the server.
-
Connection timeout at 8:49 Pacific.
-
I hope we have most, if not all, of the site problems resolved as of thursday afternoon at about 2:00 eastern.
please advise me if you have difficulty accessing the site, or if you have slowdowns, & etc.
-
Hmmm.
That's odd.
It seemed to be some time Thursday, early afternoon, that this place was running like a greased pig, and it's been running like that ever since then.
At least here.
You guys do good work.
-
It has been working fine for me over the last couple days as well and a thank you to those that have been working on this behind the scenes here at CC.
-
2130-2132..... the forum is stumbling a little.
-
9:41 p.m. central time, conservativecave is whizzing along like a pig sliding on ice.

I thought I noticed something at around that time as well, but it turned out to be the dying gasps of my broadband. it conked out, and didn't come back until this morning.

My cable never died. I tried a couple of other forums and they loaded right up. Seems to be running fine today, so far (knocks on wood).

I couldn't say either way. I didn't see anything before my green lights went out last night, and of course nothing after wards. :-)
-
I just now had a couple of time outs and very slow loading times. Other sites were unaffected.
