Half of Americans have to be the stupidest people in (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x9458602)

the world. We were beaten down by a decade of Republican politics, to the point of a Great Depression and the draining away of everything that was good about this country and yet enough voters showed up to vote into office the very same people who would destroy this nation even more. I really can't take the stupidity any more.

The next two years are going to be nothing but gridlock. Nothing will get done when we are in a very real crisis, an economy struggling to recover and two wars that seem endless. Obama is not going to be able to do shit about anything without a huge struggle, bigger than he already has had to cope with. In the meantime more people will die or end up in desperate circumstances because stupid people voted before they bothered to check facts and then think about them.

Bah! I'm going to bed.

17. It is amazing how many citizens can be bamboozled into voting against their own interests

It is staggering the number of intellectually weak people who are deceived by well polished conservative orators convincing them to vote for right wing causes. They vote Republican when it obvious that progressive ideals support them 100% better.

32. It is quite apparent

that their idea of what is in their own best interest is ALOT different than what YOU think is in their best interest.
To be quite honest, progressives have no idea what is in other peoples best interests and the sooner they realize that and stop making excuses, the sooner we can take back what we lost last night.

Finally, somebody says it.  That "best interests" phrase they keep bringing up is so high-handed and arrogant, they're pissing people off and turning them away in droves.  The last two years of name-calling was poison, too.  Relentless shrieking that I'm a despicable racist, bigotted, drooling Neandrathal has brought me to the point that I wouldn't vote for anyone with a D IN their name.  David Dean Davis, you're out of luck.

Unfortunately no one responded to that particular post, so the DUmmies will continue to float the meme that we all vote against our best interests.

Holy FAIL!!
Progressive ideals?! You mean communism?! Why don't you move to China for a week or maybe Cuba?! Report back to us and tell us how well those progressive ideals are working out for ya.
By the way Kornboy,.....it was the lord zero's policies that made Americans vote for republicans and Tea Party backed candidates. Time to stop this anti-American in his tracks. Stop making a fool out of yourself.

They always talk about how Republicans are taking the country backwards, "draining" the country of what's good. Yeah I do want to go back...back to a country that lives by the Constitution. My country is almost unrecognizable. We need to drain the size of government, RINOs, and progressives (but I repeat myself). And already the "powers that be" are trying to frame the presidential election. The establishment is deathly afraid of Sarah Palin. That makes me ecstatic! They were that afraid about Reagan too.
