THE mike_c PRIMITIVE
Original message

I've lost 60 lbs in just about two years-- 30 more to go....

Weighed in at the gym this morning. Butt nekkid, 220 lbs. I was up to just about 280 a couple of years ago, after some health issues that severely restricted my activity levels. Got those resolved finally about two years ago and started hitting the gym, very slowly at first. Now I do weight training 3-4 days a week and get in a good cardio workout at least once, usually a couple of times.

I've actually been convalescing from a broken ankle and sprained knee for the last several weeks, so I really expected to have put a few pounds back on, but didn't-- I'm careful with my diet too, so I'd still lost a couple of lbs even being somewhat sedentary.

I don't think I've posted about it in this forum before, but my weight went way up real fast when I hit my fifties and I began to have some joint problems. I'm trying to get back down to about 190 lbs-- I'm a pretty big guy and that's a real trim, athletic weight for me. The plan has been to use diet and exercise to lose half a pound or so a week, slow and steady, making it a lifestyle rather than hoping for a quick fix. It's working. 220 lbs was a milestone I've been watching creep closer for many months!

As a bonus, the male revue dancers from Thunder Down Under were working out at my gym this morning-- they're evidently performing at a local casino-- and they were a blast to watch work out. There are some pretty serious body builders in that troupe-- I mean, they get paid to strut their muscles on stage. I watched one guy bench press 280 lbs over and over and over, with absolutely perfect form. He made it look easy. They're big, but not so bulked up that they can't move gracefully. Every single one of them is shockingly handsome, too. They seemed real friendly, and the ladies at the gym were having a ball watching them pump. It was evidently just another pre-rehearsal workout in another strange American town for them.

So anyway, if I stay on track, it looks like another year or so until I make my goal. I'm already MUCH healthier and fitter-- even with 30 lbs to go, I'm in way better shape and health than I was when I passed this weight on the way up!

New campfire, just lit.

It'll be interesting to see if the gigantic primitive shows up.

He's posted in a few pic threads and yeah he's a food blister.  He looks exactly like the stereotypical hippy; fat, hairy, and sweaty.

I've seen only two photographs of the mike_c primitive, and they were both from the neck up.

I suspect the guy really needs to see a dermatologist about those irregular features on his facial skin.

I know if I had those, I'd be in the physician's office in ten minutes.

Yeah, he's a Fatty McFatass.  Probably nothing worse than your average 60-year-old man, but slim he ain't.

He posted one on LiberalUnderground where he was standing next to a file cabinet in his office. He is/was extremely rotund.
