In all nations where wealth gets concentrated amongst the few, the people either revolt or flee. As the depressed economy continues throughout this decade, be prepared to see and read stories about Americans pulling up stakes to live and work abroad. It will be the height of irony for many in a nation that complain bitterly about immigrants to become immigrants themselves in other nations.

Canada will be the prime destination for most Americans, if only because of their national health care. As the U.S. government slashes spending on healthcare, it may be easier for U.S. families to relocate to Canada and take advantage of their single-payer health care system rather than rely on a hodge podge of expensive care here in the U.S. I know that if I had kids, I would seriously consider moving to Canada rather than starving here in the U.S.

I know that the moving to Canada threat has been used before esp. during Bush II's reign. However, this time is very different. This time, we will have over 10%+ UE with no relief whatsoever coming from government. This time, housing prices are falling across the country and they continue to fall. This time, foreclosures are soaring. This time, the Republicans are even crazier than they've been in the past, and they will eventually take the reigns of power.

Incidentally, if folks had moved to Canada in 2004, they would have been better off because Canada weathered the global crisis far better than the U.S. did.

9. Same Here.
I'm getting older. I'm 46 now, and the thought of being an old man in this country truly frightens me. When we age, we get sick and we are frail. We need help from others, and this country treats its weak and frail very poorly.

Eff you leech.

Good luck with that.....Ask a sane Canadian how great that health care is! Every single one of my Canadian relatives have to have a supplemental insurance policy to cover themselves completely! lol!

Nuevo Laredo, Matamoros and Juarez would all be excellent choice for your new residence.

They dream and dream of this, never realizing how hard it is to actually do.  Last I heard, Canada needed you to have a handy $250K in your hot little fist before they'll even talk to you.  This is the effects of teaching self-esteem in the public screwls.  The DUmmies believe they are all beautiful, brilliant, and very desirable in every way.  Any country in their right mind would welcome them with open arms.  Who wouldn't?   Right?

Yeah, Canada didn't trash their economy by kowtowing to their unions and driving their country into more debt.  None of the European countries that are recovering did so either.  In fact several Euro leaders counselled Lord Zero not to go for the deficit spending.

A drool-cup overloaded stoner 'revolting'. No DUmmy, YOU are revolting, you haven't the balls TO revolt!

Hey Yav, you stupid ****tard, do NOT think for one second that you and your DUmmy parasite slacker commie-comrades, can just waltz across the border through customs & immigration into Canuk-land, fill out a few forms, then receive FREE housing, food, money, utilities, (COUGH, COUGH, MEDICAL, COUGH) MARIJUANA, and healthcare while sitting on your bloated asses for the remainder of your unproductive lives!

Canada is VERY protective of their resources and #1, if you do NOT have a job or a citizen sponsor GUARANTEEING you a job, you will be held in immigrations and directed back to the states.
#2, Canadian UNION labor forces and government PROTECTS their own people 110% more than the union slugs in this nation. If the Canadian authorities find ONE SINGLE CANADIAN CITIZEN that does YOUR purposed 'job', you will be denied residency in Canada!

I have in-laws living in Vancouver, B.C. and Calgary, Edmonton, Alberta plus I spent 10 years doing on-site technical support AND teaching the #1 industrial automation software applications in Vancouver, B.C., Calgary & Edmonton, Alberta, Saskatoon Saskatchewan, Trail, B.C., White Court and many others. It was always a major pain in the ass to get INTO the country requiring a pile of documentation, copies of my degree and certifications, even though our company HAD OFFICES in Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton to PROVE...not a single other Canadian could do the work - so I was not taking anyone's job.

Additionally, it is a known FACT, that 25% of the poorest Canadians, Inuits (toothless...uneducated Eskimos) specifically use 75+% of the healthcare resources and the MAJORITY of Canadians are getting VERY pissed at paying 55% of their dual-income wages in taxes so they can get a free health-care wait of 18 months for a knee operation.

In other words, YOU and your DUmmy commie-comrades, will be TURNED AWAY at the border disallowed entry.

Ya need a proven skill that no one else in the nation posses and smoking dope ain't one of them.

If you think it's so bad to be poor in the United States, just wait until you flee to whatever far off land you think is better.  Not that you DUmmies are going anywhere anyway.  Chickenshits.

I'm a tightwad. I say we hire a trucker with a reefer and ship them north to Canada. They might as well get used to being cold while they're traveling. When they hear they're going to Canada in a "REEFER" they'll hop right in.

What are they waiting for?  Airlines, train and buses cross borders every single day.  With their self ascribed super intellect you'd think all the countries of the world would be clamoring for their presence.

At 46 the Yavin Primitive is already looking none too fresh for immigration.  Their beloved socialist countries don't need any additional dead weight.  Suck it up, DUmmie, you're stuck here in the good ol USA.  Unfortunately, we're stuck with you and millions like you.

For one thing, I'd like to say "YES, THERE IS A GOD!"  (I already know God exists, it's just good to know he lets His presence be known to us every now and then.)
I say this because DUmmie Yackin4 HASN'T REPPRODUCED (at least as far as he/she/it knows).

Second, IF he/she/it had kids (anyone with kids understands this), YOU would starve before ANY of your children went hungry, you selfish bastard!

Excellent point and post.  And do they even realize that Canada has edged more conservative since the days of Vietnam?  They really need to keep up more.  Also, lurking DUmmies, did you know that if you've ever, ever had a DUI, Canada wants nothing to do with you for the rest of your lives?  None shall pass.  I live near the border, it's kind of a hot topic.

I'll lick my pencil and put a mark in the plus column for Canada.

Outside of the cold, snow, and Michael J. Fox, Canada is looking better and better all the time!
