Title: "Had to break off three friendships today"

The poster claims to have know all three former friends from his "teenage years" but it took him until Election Day 2010 to realize they all were racists and homophobes:

Had to break off three friendships today.
 All three are long time friends. All three unfortunately are conservative. Anyway, during a conversation over today's election the language they used about gay couples was something I just won't tolerate. I couldn't believe what I was hearing from them. The last straw was when one of them used the Mexican version of the 'N' word (by the way he nor the other two are Mexican).

I just shook my head and calmly told them "I don't know you, and for now on stay out of my sight" then walked away.

I will not be around that kind of filth. Nevertheless I am still bummed out about it. They were long time friends. But some things I will not compromise on.

Thanks DU I just had to vent that out somewhere.

Doctors and Scientists have determined that 1 out of every 4 people are freaks.

SO, pick out 3 of your friends.  If they are OK, then it's YOU.

But then again, the mentally ill are the last ones to notice.   :mental:
